I don't see why they can't just attach a steam key to the email or download page if were already getting the digital download. Humble indie bundles did this and it was super easy. A lot of people like steam because most of their game collection resides there and its super easy to setup games on multiple machines that way. Its much easier to right click X games to install on a new machine than it is to flip a disc for every single game you want to instal
OMG that screenshot is so funny :)
Yeah I had issues with the patch file so I just re downloaded the full 2.3 version and it worked.
The only feature Sins needs is drop-in MP support. The online scene would take off if that was implemented.
That would be hot. I know alot of people who dont have a whole day or even hours to play so online is nearly off limits but if they had something where you can just jump into games where people had to leave early it would make it pretty fun and you wouldnt feel like you need to dedicate alot of time to play.

I would love to see something similar to this. It kinda reminds me of Advance Wars mixed with a little Civilization. It would definitly add strategic value to the game since you could have a whole slew of governors with different specializations that could give certain bonuses. I would rather see the governors give passive traits to the fleet they are in since upgrades already cover the entire race you play. That way your encouranged to keep them alive in your fleet an
I had an issue like this and I just did a reinstall of it and it fixed it. I think something got corrupted when patching for some reason.
Yep, totally agree with everything.
I would love to see the range updated as well or even have 3 different colored circles showing each level upgrade for weapon upgrade on the starbases so you know how much it affects them. An in game info on the banks would be nice but I found that http://www.clansofsin.com/ was very helpfully in showing how much damage each bank does and dps for all the capital ships here.
Not to mention you could place mines right outside the radius of your starbase or other defensive platforms to protect your starbase. The anti structure units cost alot of supply (in the 18 ish range cant remember?) so its not like your going to see a fleet of these guys knocking at your door waiting to rape your civilization. I agree more hangers and squadrons from the starbase will help you from a smaller fleet, but anything in the larger fleet range unprotected with no
When I play advent I try and play to their strengths which are the extra fighter/bomber in their carriers and culture boosts. I don't really play online and go very defensive which this works well for offline. If I see the computer going heavy carriers make only fighters to tear their fighters up. I agree with InfiniteVoid by going very diverse and don't just mass alot of the same thing. It seems to work very well for the most part if you play offline vs computers doin
Thats really funny [e digicons][/e] They must really be jealous of the marza....
Making this a mod is not to difficult it will just take a little time 1) Download the latest Forge Tools 2) Unzip the tools rar file 3) Locate the \ForgeTools1.1\ReferenceData\GameInfo folder and inspect the entity files you want to modify for your mod. 4) Create a folder that you want your mod to be called and copy the GameInfo folder to the mod path on your computer. I have xp it
It sounds like everyone agrees that mines should be used in smaller numbers to get the job done rather than having bucket loads slowing down all our computers late game. To compensate for the smaller numbers do you guys think that they should have increased blast radius? I know if they explode they do crazy damage already but the range seems to indicate you have to literally be on top of them to blow up.
how does this make new ships not have auto join fleet enabled when built.
I see what you mean. It would appear that each ship has either auto join fleet on by default and others dont. The one ship that comes to mind that has auto join fleet not enabled by default is the advent domina subjugator as well as the scout and colony ships. Its a shame that its not an option from the menus to select which ships
Yes, on each of your fleets click on the tactics managment icon and then right click fleet management and you wont see the spinning thingy anymore indicating that auto fleet join is turned off. Simple, no modding what so ever.
1) Agree 2) Agree. Compared to the othe 2 races its quite expensive. 3) I think they should all have a limit either setup before the game (game creator chooses a number) or just a hard number so the computer cant go crazy and build thousands of mines in one planet. 4) I dont really think there should be a time limit because there would be to much babysitting on them and it would be very annoying to see a fleet warp in and all your mines have expired because
So I have played a few games now with each of the races to check out the mines they have for each race. The problem alot of people seem to be having is that the computer, especially the vasari will mine up a planet in the 1000's (not hundreds, thousands). I have seen this in a few games now and the performance can take a dip. There definitly should be a hard limit as to how many mines you should be able to put in a gravity well. Something in the hundreds not thousands might
I had 5 unfair AIs attaking me hitting my starbase, 16 caps, 750+ frigates and cruisers and i destroyed them all instant by self destructing the base.
Priceless :-D
I was building a vasari starbase while in range of some enemy ships and the starbase started firing as soon as I started to build it. It looked pretty goofy and I am pretty sure that its not intended even though it probably scared the piss outa the computer player. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
I you are looking to play a different kind of MMO, aka turn based MMO, I high recommend Atlantica Online . It plays in the vien of older final fantasy games and you can hire up to 9 mercenaries to be in your party. Right now the game is free 2 play but dont let that deter you. Right now at mmorpg.com it is the 2nd highest
