Shoot, I forgot that. Right, upgrade the planet infrastructure to the max and I think you might want to research whatever civ tech lets you increase that max further for Terran worlds as soon as possible. I wouldn't say you should do it before grabbing a nearby neutral planet of some kind but you should have an asteroid as a neighbor at least on random maps I think. I usually grab that asteroid and then max out the Terran planet research before learning to live on volcanic or ice worlds if po

These are what I think. I play single-player only right now (no internet at home because I live in a very rural area :)). I can tell you it's not a good idea to immediately research more logistics just because you hit the cap. You should do it when you NEED the ships. At least that's what I do and it seems to make sense. I like to let the pirates attack me. They're full of delicious XP for my cap ship :). I have heard not to research the +% metal and +% crystal tec
What about some kind of espionage ship that may or may not cloak and would probably be unarmed? If cloaked there would need to be some form of detection available. Anyway the ship could try to slip into enemy systems and drop off agents or whatever that might do various things depending on tech or your faction, such as just give you a view of the system or disrupt economy there or maybe even try to sabotage orbital structures or damage the planet a bit (damaging ground structures or attacking
Well I haven't had a cap ship do this but I do sometimes have frigates or cruisers that have joined a fleet, whether one I made manually or auto-joined, and they try to go back to their original rally point even if it's in another system. I don't know why they do that but I wonder if it's related. Drives me nuts. Usually though if I select the fleet and hit the create fleet button again they stop doing it.
So if I'm reading this chart correctly would fighters be a better defense against siege frigates? I've been loading my hangars with all bombers unless the enemy starts using strike craft (single player). Seems like I might want to mix in a little fighter usage early on to defend against those annoying siege frigate raids.
Can I install this over the plain out of the box installation or do I have to have earlier patches installed first? Thanks!
