mine sweeping for the scouts a defo i think that would sort out a large chunk of the problem with mines, though stopping the AI from spamming them would be nice as well as its crashing my system grrrrr oh AND programing ships not to just plow through them despite knowing where they are i think is the common sense thing to do, just forced a advent fleet outa my system and before i could gather up to follow them half the fleet went after the retreating fleet straigh

well it is only in beta ,,,, there are bound to be bugs in entrenchment so why did you dwnload it if you going to tell us all how gd sins was without it? :s

nope that wouldnt likely be it this was only about 40 minutes into the game i think and i'd only explored like 8 grav wells

hmm i agree with the idea of restricting the amount of mines in a grav well ive only bin on the beta a few days and it looks like the AI uses way to many of them its just completely unbalenced and over the top, they dont allow you to spam guass cannons so why spam mines? :S. it also makes more sense, i mean in real life for example if you had trade ships floating about would you litter the trade lanes with explosives? (i know it doesnt have an effect but it feels weird littering

right the scenario is simple, one of my colonies was attacked by a small fleet, i sent my fleet in and drove them back out and to make sure they didnt regroup i chased them to the next grav well and to the next which leads to one of their colonies, fleet legs it, i notice a group of mines (without a scout present in the fleet :S) and engage the mine to get it outa the way. Next thing i know the game crashes and has a mini dump ive tried repeating several times and every

how about rather than immune there be an option to research a mine sweeping ability on scouts to have them double as mine sweepers like you would in a current navy (to my knowledge navy minesweepers serve as detecters and sweepers) which would serve extra use in making scouts more useful i mean obviously the devs would have to be bloody careful how they incorporated the idea because you dont wanna ship that makes mine fields useless but erm i hope people at least see what am getting a

i could see it getting in the way lol imagine your in a large fleet battle n youve got asteroids bouncing from one ship to another :p lol

I dont see the point in including the starbases in the fleet supply or capital ship supply figures especially as the fleet is your only real means of taking territory so you dont wanna be depriving the player of strong offensive arm just because they also like to have a decent defense, not to mention what ever way you look at it the starbases are a defensive structure for defending a grav well, not a fleet unit thus it makes no sense to me to add them to fleet supply If you can

unlimited levels for cap ships? it just wouldnt work, the reason you have the level limits is to stop the cap ships becoming some major all overpowering vessel you can wipe the floor with, the idea is to use them as part of a fleet rather than as the previously mentioned, and though i can see what your getting at withthe less value from higher levels,,,if theirs less value to leveling from lv72 to lv73 than their is from lv2 to lv 3 then whats the point in bothering to level up? it would unde

yeah I find that annoying to, not so bad on the mdeium maps but but on the large and hue mmaps its a right cow even throwing your entire fleet into cleaning takes a while why on earth the surrender feature doesnt work muc i dont know ,,, ive only seen it used twice by the ai, its too damned stubborn

I wouldnt worry about it happening anytime soon, with the expansions on heir way and all the work on the patch they just released ad say sins aint reaching th end of its life for a while yet but their are advantages to releasing a new game rather than constantly updating a current (and eventually old) game, I agree update and fix and add to stuff thats already there but when new ideas come along that just dont work thats when a sequal is needed, something new to consstruct ideas on</p

i think their quite good for filling out the ranks a bit, juat never use them on their own later in the game their only really any use for adding firepoer to a larger well balenced fleet
me. Even in 20 hour+ games. Are you just rotating the map accidentally? Happens to me all the
tried ,,, they aint moving ,,, and anyway if they did at sum point the phase lane networks would break up at sum point or change or sumin hence I dont think the developers put orbiting in

true ,,, but on the larger maps it could be a very big downer to be half way through conquering the map and find I gotta wait till i get my next upgrades to finish it off :(

i think the AI is just much more aggressive in developing its ecconomy like it is with every other aspect of its empire building on hard. And anyway if this bonus is true good use of trade ports should compensate in my opinion

Right my pc is fairly basic atm, its got: 2.1ghz AMD X2 cpu 2gb DDR2 ram graphics is sum ATI card that only has 64megs itself but apparantly leaches more off the ram if need to know anything else let me know whats the biggest map you think this pc can handle as is? (from the default maps with their default player numbers) I keep starting a game and then a few minutes in i suddenly think "hows this gonna run when more planets and large fleets start entering the mix"

its not too surprising when you consider the games scale, its fun online but ive found a lot of people ive spoken to who own the game tend to stay away from online games against people they dont know cause of the games scale

heres one no ones spotted (less i missed it) the planets dont orbit their stars!lol they just hang in space at the same position throughout I know its a game mechanic to stop phase travel becoming complicated but it really does seem odd dont ya think?
