Annekynn, it's very obvious the problem isn't with the game, but with you. No one else seems to be having this issue. If it was a game breaking balance issue, then more people would complain. However, they aren't. The problem lies within your "tactical" short comings. Once you understand this, you'll be able to get over it.

Remember that the only real counter to bombers are fighters. Flak actually isn't that good against bombers. It will kill them, but it will take a long time. The only strikecraft it's good against is the fighters. It's kind of weird, because the game itself doesn't say this, which is misleading. When you look at the description of flak craft, it says "Strong vs. Strikecraft." However, if I recall, the flak is only good against the fighter's armor, and not the bomber's. Fighters are cons
So, the text for Cleansing Brillance states it does 250 damage to everything in a column. But the beam for CB lasts for quite some time and its duration says 8. So, does it deal 250 over the course of the 8 secs, or does it do 250 damage a second? I ask, because I believe there are some abilites that deal much more damage and aren't even a final skill. But, then again, 250/sec for 8 seconds seems a little too much... So, does anyone know?
Maybe if you have the cap ship's abilities on auto-cast and not targeting and using the abilities at the right time. I can't say quite the same for TEC or Vessari, but Cleansing Brilliance + Malice completely messes up large fleets who rely on focus firing. I don't know if the TEC or Vessari have anything that can help them out quite as effectively, but I find it hard to believe they don't.
