So here we have this game with an immense scope, great technologies to research, lots of shiptypes and structures to be built and Capital ships with varied and unique abilities. But in almost every replay that I have watched, I am seeing a distrubing trend where players ignorie a lot of these assets. Players seem to focus on playing the smallest map they can find. They churn out tons of 1 or 2 shiptypes. There are threads out begging for options to speed up multipl

A timely thread, as I have a question about wormholes. First time I saw one yesterday, and I experienced the AI-jumps-into-it-and-out behavior...with my huge fleet parked there no less. It wound up getting picked off ship by ship. I *tried* following the AI through but my fleet would not jump. I tried moving my fleet onto it...right and left clicking on it...nada. How does one chase the enemy to his doom? :)

I know that the 1.04 patch hasn't been out too too long, but I'm seeing a real dearth of replays since that patch. Does anyone have a link to a nice big pile of 1.04 replays? :D

Very enjoyable game to watch! I'm just getting my feet wet with Sins and have only played TEC so far, but it's nice to see that although other races have the same ships (mirrored, i.e. each has a Drone cruiser, a long-range frig etc..), the capital ship "special abilities" can tip the game one way or the other. A Kol's shield ability is useful, but that mothership's Malice...ouch. Just nasty. Would take a lot of brain wracking to figure out how to beat a combination of a hugle fleet of

I don't think Sins is the sort of game that was meant to be played at "Ultra Fast" so that you can start and end a typical game in under 10-15 minutes, as is the case with most spastic, epilepsy-inducing "He who clicks fastest wins" RTS games. If it were, I would not have purchased it. I have Warhammer, Company of Heroes, and (soon) Starcraft 2 for that particular little urge. And really, I find them very different (and in many ways, very inferior) to Sins. Even SC2 won't suck up as muc
I've stayed up waaaaay tooo late the last few nights (3am), so tonight I've got to get to bed earlier.
Yesterday at midnight (well, earlier today) I started my 2nd full game since "getting" how to play Sins. I could have gone to bed at any point but wound up hiting the hay at 6 AM! :D I'm still quite noobish, but I found a tremendous difference between my first 1.03 patch Easy AI opponent on a small map, and a 1.04 patch Normal AI. The normal AI was sending mass

Actually, once I did a bit of messing around and took my time, I got the picture and one my 1st game...against an easy AI of course lol. I can appreciate now the incredible design effort that went into the interface in this game. It's so much easier than your reguler RTS; I can now queue up structures and ships all from the same part of the interface; click on planet; build; enjoy! The only thing lacking, in my opinion, was a foldout card with the technology trees printed for e

So...I have played thru the tutorials. I have read the manual from front to back. And yet sadly, I have no idea what I am doing in this game, and the shine is already fading for me. I *see* the potential fun of the gameplay here, it's truly promising...but it seems buried under masses of data that has no logical link from one part to the next. After 45 minutes of play in a typical game, I have built my resource structures at home planet, sent out a scout, built my capital ship
