The figures which I put forth are merely "guess numbers" doesn't mean it has to be those numbers. The whole idea is fairly logical if you consider it. Each ship has its crew, its crew consists of engineers, pilots, fighters, etc you get the point. As they do battles they react faster, they do things faster. Now the easiest way to put this forth is to make the units stronger. Also even the % can be adjusted, 30% may be too much maybe 20%? its all flexable however the g

Every RTS i've ever played has a experiece based system for all units. Now I understand that cap ships have experience levels, however I believe we should make one for all ships and units. I would model the expierence system after RTW, basically points were based off damage that unit caused. THere was 3 main levels and each level had 3 smaller levels. Experience meant many things, mostly in their ability to be more powerful. Therefore I believe we should create a simliar syst
I agree, right now i'm on the big planet game and I am 4 hours in. I just made a dent into my 2nd star system and I still have 3 more to go. I figure roughly 20 hours to finish. Next time everyone is medium no teams.
I agree, I find that taking over a home planet is about as difficult as any other planet. I've destoryed several, and quite frankly my home planet is extermely well defended. However it should be uber defended. Turrets that can touch anything in the gravity well, larger hangers, etc... \ When a enemy invaded a home planet it should be hell for them.
Refering to your super weopon I currently have in my game roughly 5 of those TEC cannons that blow the living shit out of anything that moves. Well i've been saving my allies by keeping my enemy busy recolonizing his planets. I'll fire 2-3 rounds at a plannet then 2-3 more at a different one. So hes constantly rebuilding. Super weopons can't be cheap otherwise everyone will use them and then they aren't so super, but just normal.
I'll try and answer your questions. 1. I would say yes, to fleet upgrades. I find typically towards later game upgrades are going make the difference between you winning or losing. 2. Partly, maybe buy 1 level or 2 if you got the cash. Otherwise don't. 3. Its a risk, why risk a cap ship when you can toss in some support units? Cap ships aren't like godly unbeatable in this game. I've lost a few, and i've destroyed a few its not that difficult. Sure a cap ship may be ab
I believe its a mix, early on bigger fleet Later one higher technology, Fleet upkeep gets to become $$$ towards the end. Therefore if you can make 1 ship work 1.5 ships then its worth it later on cause your still paying taxes on that 1 ship.
Right now i'm doing the 102 planet thing. I got 20 planets under my control (with my allies this is nearly all of one star system. I got a few loose ends to tie up such as a few planets which I need got around to colonizing but thats not an issue. My econ is huge, i'm researching as quickly as possible and paying my allies thousands of credits. I heard that if you got shit left over like a large ammount give it to something otherwise its a waste (makes sense) So right now i'm funding a
I think I may adjust is slightly. I will create a massive ship building location at behind a key choke point, however each system will have its share of frigate factories.
Just finished my first game, it was a easy first though mianly to get to know the research tree, and to understand the tech of the game. Well it was a 1 v 1 with priates. Medium everything. Basically my entire stargetry was one star system at a time. I built up my fleet took over my star system, then spent some time developing econ well at the same time going for inter star system travel. After I reached a sizeable fleet I began the assualt on my enemy. Which first time arouind was actually fair
I agree, also you must understand the entrace to any star system is the star. Hold the star and you hold the game. Any planets which connect directly to such a star must have defenses prepared. I like to use 3-4 turrets, and 2 hangers. I also keep a response fleet in each star system. Typically its nothing big however enough when coupled with plantery defenses are able to heavily damage most fleets. Make allies too. They help :)
To all those that think this game is easy, its not at a first. Last time I sat down and played it for my first time. I was completely owned. Today I sat down again and was able to do far better. Its not that easy of a game to pick up. esp if your not a regular to RTS such as myself. Sure I got expreience with games like starcraft, and RTW however i'm hardly a expert.
Battles are fun :) I just recently finished a epic fight with my neighbor enemy. I had like 7 dreadnoughts, then around 60 other ships. he had a slightly smaller fleet, however he did have a fairly decent size forts at his base. I moved in my fleet and lost 3/4 of it but won in the end :) Very epic to see several of your captial ships dieing.
