Once upon the time Jamaica was richest island on earth because of sugarcane. Look at it now.
Insominac
I'll take the Kol everytime. Expanding quickly isn't an issue, for the TEC, its about going on the offensive and killing the opponent's cap ship as quickly as possible. For that you'll need a Kol.
You can get a trade agreement at 30%, the irony is while you secure that agreement they can, and will still attack you. Whenever possible I just pay whatever they ask for, after that I do a quickie mission or two for them which should be good enough for a peace treaty and a trade agreement. Its nice in small or medium map to have an AI on your side but in large games with 8-10 opponents across multiple stars the diplo system totally break down. We really need a more robust system like C
I've found that playing with diplo off is A LOT easier than playing with it on. With it off only your neighbors attack you, some of them don't even attack at all. Either that or I got lucky on a random and got all peacefull AIs.
Only colony ships or capital ships with colony abilities can cap.
What are you guys talking about? The AI rush my wormhole all the time (gosh that sounds dirty) and they're a bitch to defend. In fact defending in general is a pain in this game. I hate how playing the AI would suddenly appear in a wormhole with a huge fleet, the rush pass my defenders then, then goes on a rampage in my flanks despite the fact that I have a fleet defending the god damn wormhole. The defensive elements in this game totally sucks. With enough numbers anyone can just plow
Making allies is a pain in the ass when it's freaking so random. To make it worst the guys I have trade agreement can attack me without declaring war. That make no freaking sense. I think there should be a general cease fire with all the factions at the start the game by default. As it stand big maps are too annoying to play ATM.
I'm getting my butt kicked by the AI coming from all directions in large multi star maps because the defense in this game is terrible. The more I expand harder it is to defend. The problem with large maps is the typical rush tactics does nothing, there are simply too many AI opponents to take on and the lack of real viable choke points make playing this type of game impossible. How do you guys handle it?
Noob question, how is RA used at all? I researched the tech but could not figure out away to activate this special ability in my gates.
