Don't need to come out. In the far,far future there would be nothing wrong with living your whole life there.
So... what happens to the cotinuing advancement of the human race? What creeps me is that this appears to be a technological dead-end. If everyone's "in the system" there will be no-one to look out for furthering mankind. We will have trapped ourselves, by becoming unwilling (and quite possibly unable) to create further technological leaps that pertain to the real
Future quantum or organic computers will be able to create a virtual reality so real we will all descend into it in prefernce to boring reality. And in that reality, if you wish, space travel would work! You could live a star trek/soase reality. If that's what you want. The energy and computing requiements are much more realistic.
Yeah, it's much more realistic. That's what makes it so scary to me. I mean, what happens when you don't want to come out of the virtual r

Are all of your graphics drivers up to date? A lot of people (myself included) have had problems with outdated NVIDIA graphics drivers.

Give us time, we're a little slow somedays ;) For the CD key issue, I would reccomend talking to one of the Stardock or Ironclad members (you can see them wandering around here quite often. Actually, an IC responded to my post, so you can ask him that way.) For the minidumps, I would reccomend the same thing as above, since you say that you've already tried everything on the forums. I'm sorry things aren't going your way, but hang in there!

To Steve Mackay: I had no idea that missle barrage was a multiple-volley attack, I suppose I'll have to read it's description more closely. Still, since it's a multiple-volley attack, that would explain it's deceptively low damage value. Thanks!

The thing is, Missle barrage dosen't have an upgrade... It's one of those abilities that you get at level 6. What I thought was that those abilities are supposed to be very powerful compared to the rest of their abilities, and yet I find that an ability that a ship gets at level 1 turns out to be better.
Tactical structures do basically nothing as far as I can see
Um... if deployed correctly, tactical structures can make quite a difference. True, if the attacking force is large enough, the best they can do is slow down the assault, but that should give you enough time to get reinforcements in. Example Vasari tactical structure layout (usually works well for me): Set 6 missle launchers in a circle around the planet's gravity well (these defend well against single t

Normally I play Vasari, but I occasionally like to play the other races to get different tactical perspectives. As I was playing TEC, I noticed that the siege capital ship's ultimate ability (missle barrage) seemed to be a weaker version of the Vasari's "Phase missle swarm" ability. Could anyone please clarify as to why such a high-end move would be a weakened version of another race's normal ability, or, if it's not weakened, explain precicely how the two abilities diffe

I used to have blue screen errors too, but mine were driver related. All that I can recommend is check to see if the drivers are up-to-date. If drivers aren't the issue, Annatar11 has a very good point. Best of luck to you...

I can only really give you a Vasari point of view, but... Since trade ports come so late in the game for me (tier 4 after all), I usually try to make the most out of the resource-gatherer techs. "Wreckage Auto-Salvage" also helps to keep the economy from collapsing when I'm assaulting worlds (or when I'm just dropping by to cause some problems). My personal strategy for dealing with refineries/media hubs/trade ports is as follows: 1. Construct media hub (Allegiance bonus and culture

No offense but... are your drivers up to date? It seems a lot of people are having trouble with flickering in this game. Personally, the only driver that I found to correct the problem was NVIDIA beta driver 174.74, but that's just me. I switched drivers quite a while ago, so there may be a better one out there. Good luck. I hope that this helps.

Personally, I haven't had problems in the CPU or Memory department, but I have had a lot of freezing issues. They seem to have gone away now that I've installed NVIDIA beta driver 174.74. Haven't had any problems with it so far, but I would still reccommend trying all other drivers possible before using a beta. Best of luck!

For the memory and CPU issues, I would definetly reccomend trying what the Monk said. I've run into a few posts that have the same problems, and the Monk's advice seems to be pretty accurate toward fixing the problem.

I do about the same thing as Retroboy. However, I also use a tech called "Wreckage auto-salvage" which can be found in the empire tree level three (I believe). Once you have this leveled up, all you need to do is a quick raid to one of the enemy's planets and take out a few orbital structures. If they bring in a cap, more money for you. The only downside to this is that you need to figure out your own strategy for keeping your fleet alive. One other tip: Use the Evacuator's "Drain Planet" ab

also @ Semaz (and anyone else): For the resource issues, I find that hit-and-run tactics combined with "wreckage auto-salvage" tech can provide a resource boost. The resources gained by each structure destroyed aren't much, but every little bit helps (It also sucks to be on the recieving end of that tactic, so it's a win-win for you). Hope this helps.

I'm not quite sure what you meen by "through" the stars, but if you mean what I think you mean, then this might be your problem. When phasing between stars, it's not like a wormhole. Don't make a move order end at the center of the sun's gravity well. Instead, treat the stars like planets. When your ships are at one star, tell them to move to the other star. They should move to the edge of the well and jump automatically. And don't worry about not seeing solar phase lanes. They're alway
If you've played any other multiplayer game, you'll find the same sort of issues wherever you are. There will always be cowards, jerks, idiots, ego and incontinence. It's not specific to this game. Very true. I became so frustrated with the other players on the last online strategy game that I quit. Even now, I'm a little cautious before playing online (still haven't played this one online yet). Out of curiosity, why don't more people realize that these games are meant for [/I
