I am starting to agree with you guys on this. It wasnt a big deal when I was messing around on 2-3 player maps for fast games. But once you start playing 4-8 player maps the advent carrier start becoming godlike imo. I see them and die a little inside knowing that things are about to get nasty. And I have carriers of my own. I am fast teching 3 military just for missle frigs, and carriers. The downside is I fall a bit behind econimcally and on military researchs as I start pumping out frigs and

I dunno, the more I play the more I hate hate hate hate the advent ones. They are such a pain in the ass. Its not that they cant be destroyed, its that while yoru destroying them the fighters/bombers and disciples are laying waste to your back ranks since it takes a long time to kill them in the fairly early game. (even with carriers of my own going 2 to 1 fighter/bomber ratios)
Let me guess you guys are just pinging the gravity well for them to join you instead of Clicking on the Planet to let them know you want them to attack it?
• Even though it is a large map it appears under the small map selection. I do not know why this happens.
Its because of the number of players, thats what determines the "Map size" 2-3 is small, 3-7 is medium, 8 or more is large. Might be off on the medium one might go to only 6 but I think its 7. Regardless you get the idea.
OH hey I learned something I never knew. I just spammed trade ports regardless, never thought that by engineering a longer patch I could make more money and save logistics slots...now to experiment!!
Oh the irony...
I know and my first instinct was to leave him hanging. (I am not a nice person heh!) BUT due to the fact that the multiplayer community for this game is much smaller then the single player community...I went ahead gritted my teeth and was polite enough to answer his question, posted in a 9 month old thread. If it was a baby it would be born by now actually....hmm.
The very first thing I do when installing/updating anything I use is to find the options and mess with them.
Normally I do that. But I hardly played my copy of Sins until a week ago. (had it since day it came out) All this is World of Warcrafts fault. But now that I am officially retired (sold the account) after 4 years of play. I find I have much more free time and dont feel an obligation to sit at my computer to justify a monthly fee's usage. That said, I have
yeah Patch your game this was fixed ages ago. This is the beta feedback forum for patch 1.1 that is currently being publicly beta tested. Try a few games in 1.05 before/IF you decide to update to the beta. The reason I say that is in the Current Beta Version of the patch we are testing the Tutorial gets broken in it also. I am sure it will be fixed by the time the patch comes live. But why go through that headache while your learning eh?
silly things to argue about.....
interestingly enough I hadnt played as the Vasari in beta yet till today. (I random what race I play) So now I have a slightly different perspective on the drone carriers. What was easy to defeat with the TEC (now I am guessing a large part of that ease was due to the aoe damage to strike crafts) I was unprepared for drone carriers as Vasari and quite frankly had 2 fleets destroyed by them. Sure I took out their capitals and a good portion of the drone carriers. But with no carriers of my own ti
Dragoaskani, you should get 1.3d I'm keeping 1.05 until 7DS 2.0 Final works on the new release.I think to get rid of races, you'll need to delete files but I'm not the one to say what to delete and what to keep.
I had it. I just didn't care for the race mods personally. Though I did Love everythign else about it. So I kept playing sins plus since I didnt know how to remove the extra races from my game (they messed up my random enemy 130 star maps...) But now I am running
Otherwise the game just isn't adequate.
Your welcome to your opinion but it is only that an opinion. You should be glad its not like most RTS where if your allie disconnects/quits its not even replaced with an AI. It just either sits there, or all magically disappears.
Also, more annoyingly, I had 16 Kodiacks chasing said cariers across 3 gravity wells and the combo of 3000 hp/shield the advent carriers have is way too much.
Kodiac HC's dont counter the carriers...had you used Cobalts In their place they would chased down and destroyed them. Mind you your fleet would still have had some problems. I have found the counter to that advent drone carriers (they are the hard ones really with 3 squadrons each)when I played agains
9600gt? shoulda just got a 8800 gtx or ultra far superior performance. Anyways on topic...It took me 2 games to realize why I was always green and everythign was always red....then I felt dumb I had thought it was a new change with the patch since I was being lazy and had just left all the settings except resolution on default when I installed beta.
I believe the ai that comes in if a player leaves is just a "normal" difficulty one.
on a side note now that this thread has been resurrected from the dead. My sins game came with a manual that was falling apart. =( I had to print and bind the pdf manual because all the pages (quite literally) in mine werent glued properly and came out the first time the manual was opened. I was mildly furious as I expect quality from that kinda thing. But got over it quickly once sins was installed and I was playing. Still annoys me a little to this day though that I
When the patch comes live and this is updated I need to figure out a way to get rid of your races from it. Then its golden. My sins plus 1.3a wont work anymore when the patch is live. So that leaves your mod and me having to learn to dissect it. Oh well I will figure it out. ;)
Face it the guy is a freaking moron, he removed them from teh game good for him. Lets move on. Its not like we will ever see the scrub in multiplayer. He cant mod his suck out there.
I upped the shields and hull of scouts to make them take a lot more punishment, and upped their speed so they are not so vulnerable. Scouting is basically a suicide mission in Sims. But by making them stronger and faster, they at least get more scouting done before they finally die from not being able to regenerate. What I'd like to see is that when a scout reaches a planet thats empty or allied, it stops to recharge shields and fix the hull, before it continues on its scouting mission. It
just lock the thread before these two geniuses keep going at each other....
This is a waste of space in teh beta forums. Post it in the general forums at least.
no but I am sure it makes them feel big bad and tough enough to unleash a nerd rage. Anyways back on topic: a screenshot if you have one would help immensely, if not a save game works too.
cooldown was changed to 10 minutes, seems a bit long imo. Maybe 5 minutes would be better.
Defensive Capabilities:I think that carriers have become way too powerful because they can, like people above me have said, can quickly move around and constantly regenerate their hull and shields. I think cutting their speed, shields and hull points to make them easier to destroy would help the game. Offensive Capabilities:NO CARRIERS IN THE WORLD TODAY CARRY ONE SQUADRON OF AIRCRAFT.If that is the case why do the carriers in SoaSE only carry one squadron. I know this game is fictiti
Sorry no time to read all the replies to your OP. So fast question for you. What did you have the slider for minimal planet distances apart set to? That adjustment might help.
