I like how mp supporters claim the game is balanced and diverse, then accidentally admit something like "One of my favorite tactics is a single capital ship and a team of LRM/s and Flaks...". Yes, we know. This is everyone's favorite tactic because it has NO COUNTER beyond HCs or more LRMs. Basic frigates have no use. Carriers have no use. Flak is only necessary in very small numbers to completely hard counter all strike craft. Half the cap ships will lose you the game if you take t

This game just doesn't scream 'online MP'. I can see playing with a friend or two against a bunch of AI's, but the crashing issues and time commitment makes playing with strangers unappealing for me. From what I've heard, small map 1v1 just ends up as one unit spam 9 times out of 10, which doesn't appeal to me at all. I do play RTS's competitively online, but Sins just seems better suited for SP or LAN sessions. Maybe if 1.1 fixes up the balance, and opens up some real tactics and st
You'd think they would have put more priority into fixing the balance. What good is the game if there are only one or two viable strategies? It just becomes a real-time slideshow, since the actions are pre-determined and play out the same every game. Mass LRMs, focus fire, repeat. Or you can try for HCs instead. Yawn. Hopefully, carriers and strike craft get fixed in 1.1. The basic frigates need more of a use as well.
Excellent, it'll be a lot easier to convince my friends to try this (still loyal to Company of Terrible Balance, even though we've all agreed competitive arranged team is almost unplayable) with the crashes taken care of. Looking forward to the fixing of strike craft in 1.1, so the 'counter-circle' will no longer be broken and one unit-spamming will stop.
I think the minidump issues are being addressed in 1.1, as they probably would have mentioned it in the notes otherwise. Could you please do something about the Hard AIs all teaming against you in unlocked FFAs though? It's impossible to play with more than 2 AIs on smaller maps as the game will quickly degenerate into a 3v1. I don't care if they favour attacking the 'strongest player', but they shouldn't ally with each other. You simply can't fight off 2+ allied fleets attacking you
They're a good idea, but not implemented as well as they could be. As many already said, they feel more like mercenaries than pirates. They should be attacking more randomly, with the option to pay them 'protection money' or something to leave you alone for a while. If they're going to stay more as mercenaries, then you should have more control over them if you win the bidding. Simply being able to tell them where you want them to hit would make them a lot more useful. The strength
