A good place to upload this torrentwise might be GameUpdates - they cater to torrents for patches, mods and utilities for gaming. Alternatively, Micael456 and I can offer a direct-download mirror, with what is marketed as an unlimited bandwidth plan (of course, we'll soon find out about "reasonable limits" clauses) - although we'll need the file first, since we came pretty to late to this. Unfortunately it doesn't matter how much RAM you have - you may have read this already, but Sins loads [b]everything[/b] into memory, and doesn't dynamically unload it. And since it can only be allocated 2 GB of memory to run in (at least on 32 bit, 64 bit might be slightly higher), it fills it up pretty damn fast on larger maps, with lots of Ai and ships (not to mention all the textures, sound files etc.) and dumps. The only possible fix is a 64-bit rewrite of Sins, which is beyond the scope

That sounds a lot like the Shield Mitigation bug from a while back. Have a look at the stats for the ship while in combat, and watch for mitigation breaking 100%. If it does, you need to update/reinstall the mod, as this has been fixed if I recall correctly. 0.4.2E is the latest.

While assimilating Star Bases would be cool, personal experience tells me that people get real hacked off just having their caps assimilated. The player I am referring to actually now refuses to play in a game as Borg, or against a Human Borg player. Personally I think it's awesome (but then my ally was the Borg player). I'm considering purchasing the digital download of SoaSE, havin read the review, played the demo, etc. What files does the download actually consist of? Is it a .rar, a 'la torrents? I ask because I want to know whether I can backup/iso to disk, or if it's some strange bundle, like EA store's copy of C&C3, which can only be installed from the EA d/l manager, and won't install just from the setup program in the file.
