Most 32-bit apps work on my system without any issues, so I would presume the only stumbling block here is the impulse client itself which refuses to restore the archive.
Actually, it should restore them regardless, but whether they work or not will depend on the application. Apps like WindowBlinds that need to have the 64 bit version on 64 bit systems will probably not work if the 32 bit version is installed, while apps like DesktopX may work fine. [quote

As I'm patrolling these forums I see several posts where people are wondering where certain files/folders are located. Here's a list of locations and files that may be helpful when reporting issues DIRECTORIES: Game install directory C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Elemental <

What's the make and model of your USB sound device? Do you have an onboard device, and if so does it show the same issue?

If possible, can you send the save game file located in Documents\My Games\Elemental\Saves. Can you also please download and run the following utility: http://sd.stardock.com/SDSupportTool.exe This is a tool that we use to gather relevant log files and basic information about your computer. Once the utility finishes running, please send back the .zip file it creates on the desktop.
Everything on it loads fine, it's like the actually texture for the map itself isn't loading.
It looks like this may be the case. Try verifying the game through Impulse (Shift+Right click on the game entry). It should replace the texture if needed. Also, try tweaking your brightness setting for the map (I like mine on full bright at 100): <img style="vertical-align: middle;" src="http://sd.stardock.com/curthendzell/pics/2010-08-28_1319.png" alt

1.) Your drivers could use some updating. Always make sure you have the latest and greatest for your card for best performance. 2.) Is this as soon as the game is run, or when you load a save? If the former, try deleting the following directory: C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic\Screens (the directory ProgramData is hidden) and running the game again
A friend of mine's downloaded his copy already. Will I be able to grab the archive file off him and activate it on my account using the serial number I received after purchasing the game?
Unfortunately, no, the archives are user specific. You could log in on his machine and use the download and archive feature in Impulse to get your archive though (right click on the game entry and select "Download and Archive")
Unfortunately I don't have a very stable
I understand that this is the Dell version of Stardock
Stardock is our company, not any of our software titles. Unfortunately, it's not possible to nest categories in the Dell Dock. It's really designed to be a way to quickly launch apps, not something to replace a file explorer or the All Programs menu.

If you move the files out of C:\Users\{YOUR USER NAME}\Documents\My Games\Elemental and C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic does that get you up and running (store those files somewhere in case we need data from you, but make sure the locations are clear). Once you do this, run the game again.

Try removing MyColors completely by running this removal tool: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/odnt_zapper.exe You'll need to right click and select "Run as administrator" if you're in Windows Vista or 7. Once you do this, you can reboot and reinstall.

The move option is a problem, there is no option to move with the send to menu. However, you can just create shortcuts to the following locations and should have no issues (provided you have permissions to other users desktops): C:\Users\Public\Desktop C:\Users\{YOUR USER NAME}\Desktop C:\Users\{OTHER USER's NAME}\Desktop You can rename the shortcuts as you see fit.
