A campaign should be the #1 project right now. Playing solo gets old, and playing online with random people is always just a lame ass spam rush, and not really fun at all. I only play with people I know. All of you that are critical of the campaign idea, something is wrong with you. If you spend some time reading reviews of SINS, the lack of a solo story mode is the #1 complaint out there, and would do the most towards increasing sales of the game. Like mentioned before, 90% of all rts games

This looks fucking kick ass.
This guy is right.
I don't listen to much other than TOOL anymore. Any album, any song, Maynard is a fucking genius. Thanks for the heads up Pony. I had always thought they shared something there, but didn't know just how similar the story was. I actually haven't read Anthem yet, but am getting there. Rush and Rand both genius.
One thing I didn't see in the above posts is some important first steps. This mainly applies to a med. size game or larger, or a game where you wont get rushed. I like to build my cap. factory first, in order to get that out as quick as possible. Then the resources on first planet. I'll build a scout, two lights, a colony, and another scout. Start taking planets and as soon as you get the cash build 2 civ. stations. This will allow you to reserch ice and lava colony as soon as you need
Two words: "Alpha Centari"
People complain alot about "broken" games in general, but think about this. How many different types of systems do you think people are playing the average game on? The answer, when considering all the different vendors for pcs, ram, vid cards, etc, is at least tens of thousands of combinations. Almost every game I have ever played the early versions of has had problems. Thats just going to happen, you can't know all the problems you are going to encounter until the game is actually i
@Annatar- You seem to be arguing some points that were not the ones I was trying to make. 1. I know, but it doesn't if you are playing 1v1 with pirates disabled, then its a bug and ai should know better. 2. I know, pirates are a valid cannon target, but not a good one. Auto target should know to pick a target that is somewhat useful, as in an actual opponent. 3. I don't even understand what you are trying to say on this one. 4. I am only experienced with using
I agree, to a point. Not that I was misled, but that I would like to see more done with the non-combat side of the game. We all have improvments we want to see, I think that diplomacy, trade, etc. is one of the weakest aspects of the game, and therfore could use some attention in future patches and expansions. That being said, I have seen amazing improvments in some games, thru the use of patches and exp. to the point of adding an entire new level of gameplay. (Crafting in D2 changed everything,
LOL Well first of all, because of commie, assholes that pirate games, all companies have had to adapt and try to come up with ways to deal with the fact that they deserve to make money off of their work. Being required to register the game online is both un-obtrusive, and also somewhat effective at combating this. So quit your bitching. Second. Get a better pc. I've only had about 1 minidump and it was an online game, 0 on solo. Even if I did have one on solo it wouldn't be a b
The problem with pc gaming is piracy. Look at the sales of cross platform games sometime. Good pc versions tend to sell 1/4 of the copys or less, even though there are way more pcs in the market capable of playing that game vs. xboxes or ps3s. Hell if I know the answer to this problem though. I am conficted, because I belive totally in freedom of speach, but I am still glad when the commies at torrentspy or others get shut down.
I play on a p4 3.2g, 3g ram, and a plain old nvidia 6800 with no problems.
Other bugs, or general fixes. Dumb ai puting bounty on with no other players or pirates. TEC cannon firing on pirate planets when on auto. also dumb. If you pause an online game, the typed messages wont go thru. So you cant talk about why you paused, or let others know when you are back. Autocast is usless for almost anything, picking horrible targets, or using things not needed. When the leader of a fleet dies, the shipyard stops sending ships to it
Thats becasue the refineries help metal and cry. production, not really credits.
Only thing I have to say is this: Anyone that posts an exploit to the public is a ****ing bastard.
I have big problems with the ai in this game so far. 1. PC allies are really dumb, they will have huge fleets and let them sit there while you ping away for help. 2. Playing vs 1ai with pirates disabled and the bounty me? Dumb. 3. Targeting. The way shields work the absorb a % of damage, meaning that if you have everything firing at one ship, it blocks that much more. But, fighting with large fleets I've noticed that (say with 30+ ships vs 30+ ships) they will
My crashes were not like that, but I had a somewhat similar experience. I was getting complete system lockups when I would try to login to IC online. I eventualy traced the problem to my Zone Alarm. What was happening was (same prob. with DoW) it was trying to pop up an allow/block event, but because of some bug, it would lock everything, forcing me to hard reset my pc. Always using game mode answer with allow, has since prevented this.
^somewhat sarcastic, but basicly right^ Other than that, I would suggest the forums on here, or other gaming websites, for others that want to organize a specific time to play. Unfortunatly, I think the lack of a single player mode has hurt their sales ( I almost didn't buy it because of that) and the fact that it hasn't gone world wide yet. When it does, and sales go up, and some new patches come out to fix some of the bugs that have discouraged other players, and eventually the expans
If you are going to buy this game on ebay, or anywhere not retail or D2D, you need to specificly ask the seller if the game has been registered online or not. It can only be registered once and there is no going back, IC doesn't support used sales. So, if the seller says that "They don't know" don't buy it. If they say "yes" don't buy it. If they say it has not, and they will let you return it, then go for it. I also bought my copy from a co. in Jersy, but before I would pay I contacted them and
I guess there isn't an edit post option. I forgot to mention that the main reason I was able to repel green's first attack, and last a good long time against a larger force the second, was because I had built 2 repair...(cant remember name, so repair satallites?) and about 3 repair ships, with the disable ability. I like those things.
I bought sins recently and have played one MP game so far. My first compliant would be that anyone with dial-up should not be allowed to connect ICO. I joined a 9 player ffa, which went to 8 really quick because of this. I have played other games where you cannot even connect to the online mode without having a min. bandwith. This should be implemented here. Shortly after the host kicked the lagger another two players left without giving a reason, if there is a way to tell if th
