Ships look to much like the advent.
Nonsense!:)
JKE J
ManSh00ter, outstanding work! Actually I was pretty sure that it's going to be cool!;)
(finishing up the last cruiser and will now start working on the first capital ship)
It looks like they are going to be totaly astonishing!;)
I thought that those sounds were speech but that it can't be fullу expirienced by human's ears or brain;)
Well, it seems to me that the only strong AI enemy is unfair hard (agressor), not just hard. That is so like in other games...
How the full screen mode is switched on? I didn't find it in options or hot keys.
>And you base this claim on what? Didn't I tell you that your ideas are too clever for me? But you keep talking to me. It's kind'a strange... >Then explain it. Already did, genius. >Rather than justifying your previous statements, you simply avoid your fallibilities by saying "they are exclusions for now"? Who's pathetic? You are;) They ARE EXCLUSIONS;))
>You definitely have problems with ears. And you have some bigger one, with that brown thing in your head. >I've never understood the "simulated sound" thing. The sound's there to make the scene more interesting and dramatic, that's it. Space, weight, and processing power are all at a premium on a combat ship... why are you going to waste any of it to make pretty battle noises when simple warning klaxons or beeps will do? Anyway that's really simple to explain. <
Can't edit last messages >Dude ships are shielded. REALISTICLY the shields hold in atmosphere allowing fires to stay burning. Well that might be the only more or less sensible explanation...
>This is just ridiculous. Because star wars set a precedent of unrealism, it's okay? Actually it explains why sound is used in such kind of games: as it is a film/game making standart. Fire is not, as it's LOOKS unnatural >I could rip apart your flawed argument 100,000 ways, don't ask me to, just admit that you're wrong. Try it;) >Dude ships are shielded. REALISTICLY the shields hold in atmosphere allowing fires to stay burning. Jees. Learn your 25th century
*I can't understand you, you'r too clever, like I said before))- that was said to Supabish
>Dude ships are shielded. REALISTICLY the shields hold in atmosphere allowing fires to stay burning. Jees. Learn your 25th century science.. Maaan, open your eyes when playing the game and see that ships burn when shields are down. >This has nothing to do with the argument, you're deviating from point. "Sound is less important," so you're compared the entirety of a sense to the little burning explosions on ur screen that take up only a fraction of ur sense of sight? Yo
>Contradict much? You whine about how space fire is oh-so unrealistic yet at this point you argue my point by saying 'it's a game'. I don't think you even see the connection. A pity, really. That's because what you are talking about is connected with 2 problems 1.Gameplay 2.Programming Cutting fire off doesn't make any problem. Understand? That's simple. >Why don't you try posting valid arguments instead of name-calling? Oh wait, you can't. I refuse to be calle
Wow, thats cool;))
>By the same logic, you can keep zoomed out so you don't see the ships burning The sound is there, but you switch it off so you don't hear it. Same as with fires being there, you just zoom out so you don't see them. Like I said, thats exactly what I do. Also I said that there is difference between what you see and what you hear. You can't disagree, that sound is much less important than picture. And sound can be explained (I wrote earlier about it). And the most important is that sound
to theRetroboy: >So you're saying Star Wars broke realism and therefore it's okay here to break it in the same way? Methinks your doublestandarding here. I'm not doublestabdarting. There is the difference between what you see and what you hear. Also you can switch off the sound in the game. >Yes. StarShip Troopers. The Bug munitions basically stuck to the ships and kept burning a good long time. I don't recall anyone walking out of the theater at that point. http://
It's allways great to meet such clever people in th internet. Let's see what what we wisdom we can gain from your generous speech;)) >1) Sound cannot travel in vacuum. This game should have absolutely no sound other than those people talking over a radio, and the music. You are a little bit slow as I can see, I answered that already. >2) Did you happen to look at how the planets are arranged around the sun, not to mention how many there are? 3) Planets are static.
>Yes. In fact, pretty much everyone does. I didn't expect that..:/ >We don't play the games for the epitome of realism, we play them because they're fun and pretty to look at. But hey - why is there sound in space? Why do you hear missiles, beams, autocannons? It should just be mute too, otherwise it would be a game for 8-11 year olds! Well, I play this game because of it's pretty to look too. Some of the models are masterpices, for example progenitor mothership or
>So... You registered just to be a jackass? Yeah, dude, I thought that you feel lonely hier;)) >And it also seems to me that there's one in every crowd who doesn't like the same thing that just about everyone else does. There are SO MANY things in Sins that aren't realistic that this is an incredibly minor offense if your target is realism. The secret is to recite these four words over and over: "It's just a game". Can anybody really like this? It sucks, I meen with t
>It's not impossible to see short lived flames or explosions in such situations. Oh, really? It's so cool that you are hier to enlighten us! I guess you can understand the difference between an explosion and PERMANENT fire (like in this game)? And as you are a wise guy, you also know, that atmosphere comes to end quite fast when there is a hole in a ship happens?;) >whole hosts of realism often go out the window for playability and enjoyability. well, it seems to me
Hi! I played about 20 hours in SoaSE, and I have to say that the game is great! The only thing that spoils the pleasure of playing it is a question: how the hell ships BURN IN SPACE??? It looks absolutely unrealistic and dum:(( Maybe it will be changed in new patch? I registered to write this...
