Thanks kryo you are right it was indeed 'foreign edition, but plays in english', and was from eBay. However, there is no copy protection so bootlegging would not be so hard while, if so, it goes as far as having not only foreign loading instructions and option boxes but, if the 'gibberish' language installation option is used, some of the texts in the game itself are in the same lingo! - Stardock Support also suggested it could be the Russian version. My [edit: 'used'] game, purchased from USA, [edit:via eBay and described as foreign] is possibly the Russian version with details on the jewel case insert in Cyrillic text. The CD plays ok in English but has a registration key which also contains Cyrillian letters, apart from the numbers which look like 'normal' UK/US numbers (arabic?!). I am curious to see if there any updates available but I cannot register the game because my code is not recognised even if I paste in
