PC gaming? dying? not yet. I love my ps3 and all, but I can't imagine trying to play a decent rts to tbs on it. RPGs suck on it, don't believe me? try Oblivion. Good game and all, but better on pc. I look at it this way, as long as they WRITE the game on a pc, PLAYING the game on pc will always be a little faster, alittle more intuitive. If I want to play madden or any FPS, I go to the ps3. Capships are handy. As few as three can take out the neutral colonies with little damage. I don't build frigs unless I run into another player or a pirate base early. I've beaten three hard using mostly cap ships as tech. This requires the upgrades to experience before I take on a fight. ok. frigatephasecarrier is the vasari lt carrier. change maxnumcommand pts and thats how many squads it can carry. frigatepsi- and frigatetech- are the others, CAPITALSHIP_PHASE- same thing. You're looking for the maxnumcommandpoints. I modded the carrier levels to gain a squad per level, the hangers to carry twice as many, the squads themselves I multiplied by 4(ie there are 24 fighters in a tech squad for me). This is just my personal strat-I use it for all 3, but I'll refer to tech here. First I build two civic research modules and a cap ship factory at my homeworld, and advance infrastructure. ok. I'm trying to recreate the feel of "the stars at war" by david drake and steve white(great set of books). I've modded the fighters to be larger groups, the beam weapons to have a longer recharge with heavier damage, the autocannons to be short range and less damaging with faster refire, the missiles to have twice the range, and carriers and hangars to have twice the capacity. is there a way to change the hyperspace speed? I've looked everywhere in gameinfo and the only way to affect it I've found is to change the artifact, but you can't control how often it spawns, either would help.
