Like Gen stated, there are the basic essentials. The first basic essentials are planet infrastructure to keep the creds coming in. Fleet capacity should only be researched as needed, as it decreases the income you get from your colonies and extractors. In certain situations, military upgrades are also a good idea. Early on, the money spent on getting a 5% increase in dmg to 5 assailants isn't worth as much as adding another assailant, but if you have 30-40, then researching the dmg upgr

I don't know about the first one as I've never actually used them before, but building a second cap (for me online anyways) almost never happens unless my first is destroyed. As part of my starting strat, I actually scuttle the cap factory for a quick boost of credits and crystal, two things I need for my assailants. Generally, I'd rather have 8 ships that do 15 dmg per second than one ship that does 60 dmg per second. Warfare upgrades also scale way better with more smaller ships.

clicks per second means jack and shit, and jack left town. It's all about your overall strategy and your ability to manage a fledgling empire successfully from many different aspects. You have to manage a starting economy in order to fund your wave of impending doom, you have to manage early conquest to help with the economy, you have to successfully manage the comissioning of many ships to help destroy your opponents... etc. This isn't Tekken. You don't win by clicking super fast and h

From my experience, even as Vasari, Illuminators will still destroy your fleet easily even with their mothership dead. Illums have a huge range of fire while the Assails and vas cap ship does not, so all it takes is a little micro and advent is back on top again. he can literally fly circles around your ships while blasting you, and you can't do a thing. IMO, Illums need their wide range of fire nerfed hard for Illums to become balanced with other LRFs.

Most of these suggestions seem like single player suggestions, to be honest. There is not a super uber vasari fleet. The truth is is that you do what works. On a medium to small map, spam Assailants. Those come quick and with very few structures and upgrades, which leads to a decent fleet fast. Enforcer/subverter are for larger map battles that give you enough time to get them. Typically, anyone who has enough resources to build five military labs and tech to enforcer, start making them, etc, or

developing your own style only goes so far in MP, as anyone past noob will tell you. Sure, going out of the box will help you find that new kick-ass strategy, but teching to trade ports on a small map as Vasari isn't the new "ultra strat" you're looking for. Some opening moves that are always the same for me are to build a Cap ship factory right away and then a military research structure for fast vas assailants. Then I tech up the planet pop upgrade. Those three things let me accomplish a fast

Might be one of those situations where 2 doesn't do anything but three improves it. It's good enough at 1 point though, so except for a super long game I couldn't see the use in going above that. Of course this is coming from a Vasari addict, so take with a grain of salt. :P

Vas can't hold it's own vs TEC early on without RA? Sounds like someone's a little lost in the SP world. Go ahead and PM me on MP for a nice 1v1 you TEC and me Vas. We'll see who is worthless early on.

a fleet of mostly LRMs and Kodiacs would probably whipe the ground with that fleet at the same expense level.

This happens to every RTS, especially at the higher skill levels of gameplay. As noobs who sit back and build huge armadas and attack at the 2hr mark, this probably doesn't affect them as much. To advanced players who are rushing with the most easily accessable high damage dealing unit, such a unit was found in the LRM. But you guys need to quit bitchin' about it. As soon as the LRM starts getting chants from the streets to be nerfed, it will get crushed to hell, become unusab
