I do half and half for my D and all bombers for my Offence. I just feel that they will attack more buildings but I have only tried this on AI so far.

so what is the reasoning behind getting the colonizing Cap Ship first? I perfer the stronger Caps that can clear out the area of raiders.

They enter in per each gate so you will need the same number of gates to get the same ammount of ships.
