Haven’t checked in, in years but great to see a new version! For reasons, my PC was in storage for awhile but after dusting it off and plugging it in everything works great. I just picked up SOA2 again, and can’t wait to try out the new stuff! Well, new atleast to me!

Thanks for the explanation. I have the npc's figured out, except for the HoD. I've set the ferengi/tamarian/sona so they are delayed but the HoD never seem to spawn and i'm not sure why. Do you guys know if there is a way to have technologies pre-researched as part of the 'quick start'? I was trying to have excelsior ship technology unlocked from the get go, since I start off with an ambassador, it makes sense I would have access to the previous generations of ships too in a quick start game. I've been encountering problem opening the new entity files for editing. The files from the previous version will open fine in notepad or notepad++ but the new files have all of these 'null' values and the formatting is gone as well. Does any one know if there is a way to return to sose rebellion ver 1.1? I told steam NOT to update the game automatically, but it did any way and now I am stuck on 1.5 and do not know if the current version of the mod will work properly with rebellion 1.5 I'm usually a fan of steam, but this is a pretty lame bug to encounter especially when I perfer mods to the actual game.

I downloaded the map updater from this link: https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/sins_mods/161/download I extracted all 24 files from the zip file using 7zip to a folder on my desktop called "updater" I am running windows 7 pro 64 bit. When I run either the 'rebelmapupdater3.exe' or the 'sinsmapupdater3.exe' I encounter an error saying: --------------
Are the maps in rebellion smaller than in trinity? when I set up a random map, they don't seem to be as large as the old random's used to be.
If anyone is interested, I would like to set up a weekly game, for about an hour or two. My idea is to use one of the largest sins maps, random or player created and save the state of the game after the session for the following week. Maybe we could have a 'dm' type player as the borg, or just a really hard AI borg. Each of the factions would be controlled by a player, or we could have more than one person playing a faction, say 3 dominion players on a fairly allied

what software packages would one need to make models/textures for this mod? I'm new at this sort of thing, but I love this mod so much I'd like to give a shot at learning how to this. If i'm successful, i'd gladly help with making models.
Since you guys were talking about planets when zooming out I figured i'd ask a question. When i zoom out all the way, i don't see any planets unless i hold the ALT key. Is this intentional, or is there a way to have Sins show the planets when zoomed out all the way automatically without holding down a key?

I absolutely love this mod! anymore i can't even play the original game bc it just pales in comparison to soa2. i've just about played out the computer AI though, it's no longer a fulfilling challenger, but human players would add a whole new depth. does anyone organize group games? or, if not how about we get some huge games together? send me a pm if your interested. the AI just isn't cutting it anymore :|
I think I may have found a bug in the Federation antimatter refuel pod research for the ship factories. The description for the research says that the pods will recharge ships and orbital structures antimatter. Once researched the ability only recharges ships not structures. I'm not sure if it's just a type-o in the description, or if it actually is supposed to refuel orbital structures antimatter.
