looking for a fourth resource? why not add in black holes, and somehow allow ships to harvest dark energy from them, although i dont know how you wouldnt get sucked in lol.
i dont think the need for a new race will be necessary in the second SoaSE,because never have i ever seen an expansion for an RTS that doesnt include some type of new race. depending on how early they want to start on SoaSE II there might be two expansions, and if thats the case then there should be atleast two new races in the second sins. however, i ask that if there is only one expansion that they only add one race to it. as CenturionJixra said "it is extremely hard to add a new fact
all i know is that in real life space combat wouldnt be anything like what it is in this game.
how many ships have self destruct buttons, jedmon24? lol, i agree though, a small ship couldnt take a ship with that large a crew. boarding doesnt make a lot of sense anyways, its like saying a few navy men could do the same things that a marine could do, they dont have the same training... not very realistic, especially saying that they could take another ship and know how to operate one. thats about the equivelent of saying a marine could do the same things a navy man could do. and, not only w
he's got a good point, either that or it would be very few factories, if any, and it would be very expensive. someting else i dont get is how would a few guys from a firgate be able to operate something like a cap ship let alone know how to use one effectively.
somthing that would make the game a little bit more interesting would be rebel planets that are neutral but wont let you colonize them without a fight. you have to conquer them like you would an enemy planet. i guess this could get really irratating if they were one of the only planets near you in early game. but late game i think that would be cool. I also think you should get some reward for conquering the planet, not just the ability to colonize it. maybe some new ships or maybe some powerful

one thing id like to see later, much later lol cuz its pretty big. is maybe being able to fight on the planets, i think that would be really cool beacause it would all sorts of new units to sins(infantry, tanks, artillary etc.) and different combat situations. in space when you are in massive air battles its cool and all but you cant really give any strategical orders to your ships. if you were on the ground, you could make all kinds of cool orders like tell your ships in outer space to bombard

one thing i'd like to see is a change in pirate behaviour. they really arnt pirates, they are mercenairies. in real life you couldnt pay a pirate to do something for you, they would do it by themselves or kill you and take all you have. i think the only interaction with them should be combat. but, i do like the whole mercenairy feature so, they should have pirates AND mercenairies lol not pirate mercenaries. one is just a maraurding rebelion that attacks trade ships and planets of every player
i really like the idea of a mother ship too, it would add a new strategy to gameplay. i also like the idea of what PR-0927 said about not having a limit but making it very difficult to get more than one. but i wouldnt want it to be unstopable because then its just a race to see who can get one first. i think a cool feature to add would be boarding. you may think this has nothing to do with the mother ship but to me it makes sense. say you dont want to spend all your resources on one ship, so you
the patch only seems to fix bugs in the game, i hope thats not all it does. maybe add some new features to the game as well as fix problems during game play. i guess that will be in some later patches.

All these ideas sound great and i cant wait for this expansion to come out, although i dont want them to rush it, i want it to be as good as it can be. I do not own the game yet, but i will soon.
