and if I could offer any advice, go for a Ceasefire, then move your ships into position to attack the ai's capital

nice! I'm used to RTS games, but I still got pwned on my first try. It takes time to learn to play any game good, so keep up the good work! :CONGRAT:
Also, one last tip, use Long Range Missile Frigates/Illuminators/Assailants for the main body of your fleet.
I gotta agree with that. But be sure to give the longe range frigates some back up. If the enemy ships get too close, then you have somewhat of a problem.
I use caps because pirates normally have a lot of ships and killing them is a good way to get expierience. one time, really late in the game, I attacked a pirate base and it had ove 200 ships gaurding it. that was a cool fight . that ever happen to anyone else?
once, both the pirates and I had about 200 ships each. It was pretty sweet, because I had gone and researched most of the weapon improvements for my ships. You can guess how it went ;)
thanks everyone, what I normally do is send in a combination of Cap ships and heavy cruisers, sometimes with some frigates for backup.
Just wondering if anyone knew a good strategy for taking down pirate bases. Because frankly, pirates get annoying
It could be planet underdevelopment. I lost thousands of credits to that...
I personally like Halo 3 because of the multiplayer. Halo 3 was pretty much made for multiplayer
