Im really getting sick of the cowardly Advent AI, they are always running away from evey fight they get into. I've had a fleet of seige ships outrunning all my warships and making it all the way to my homeworld, then, seeing the capital ship I stationd there, they turn around and run all they way back home. I always end up spending tooo much money on phase jump inhibitors, which you cant put around stars. Someone make a interdictor ship. Like a mobile PJI?

Ok the converter works for SOME files like the ship ones, but it wont convert Ability.entity files. Im using the convertdata that came with forgetools 1.1 BTW: im trying to make a video using this game, how do i get rid of the red and green lines that show what ships are doing? And how do I get rid of the planet globe symbols that show you where a planet is when its too far away to see? and is the most recent version of the game 1.05 or 1.13?

ok I got it fixed, but still, when I edit the file for FrigatePsiSeige.entity and change the hullpoints, then put it back into the gameinfo folder, the game crashes on startup. try it yourself and see if it happens to you. and is the most recent version of the game 1.05 or 1.13?

I cut the hull points of a tech scout frigate in halve, now the second it is destroyed, it causes a minidump. Anyone know why? The file is in text format and I cant convert because my convertdata.exe crashes every time i use it. I have patch 1.05, and I usesd the reference data files that came with forgtools 1.1

its either the editor or the convertdata.exe I cannot convert .entity files from text to binary or vice versa. Every time i try, Its says: convertdata.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I thought that ships could absobe too much damage fefore they died so I went into the Gameinfo folder and copied alll ships and "planetmodual" files, opened, halved the health on all of them, Then i stuk them in a folder in the mods directory. Whenever it loads it causes a minidump. what did I forget to do? and my developer doesnt work, its in the games directory, It starts gives me alll these errors, then "stoppes working" here are some of the errors: Failed to find file 'GS_

I feel like I missed something, if you want to change a ship's hp, do just edit the entity file for that ship, or is there something else you need to do?

woot! i got it working, but somethings wrong. ok I halved evey single ship's hull points for all fractions, including capital ships. now the second a scout frigate, or any other ship, gets destroyed, it causes a minidump. I put the edited files into a folder in the mod directory, I can load them fine. If I try to replace the actualll game files in the game directory, The mod doesnt work, ships have normal health.

I edited a .entity file, so how do I save as .entity file? I can only save as .txt how do I use this convertdata tool thing. btw i have vista so the file locations are different i think.

I think the time it takes for a ship to die is rather unrealistic. I understand that ships have sheilds and all butwhen you are in the beginning of the game, when you only have enough credits for only a handful of ships, one-on-one battle between them can get annoyingly long. the amount of fire a ship can absorb seems way too much. Weapons should be strengthened or hull weakend on all ships, but the sheilds can be kept the way they are. Once the weapons get past the ships shields, then they b
