To be honest Consitiution Class ship doesn't even colonize Planets
I think Surveillancemike was referring to the game, where the Constitution class colonises worlds. The Miranda-class is the scout. It makes sense for the capital-class vessels not to have special abilities -

Ok so I was trying this out earlier on and I have to say it's quite nice. However, one complaint I have is the speed at which ships are destroyed. I think the destruction should be slowed down a bit. Still, good work guys.
D'deridex class ships have disruptors - they are seen firing in several episodes in The Next Generation and Deep Space 9 (such as The Die is Cast - one of my favourite episodes).
It's the average hull and shield strength of all of the units.
What would be their purpose? Battlecruisers were designed to kill smaller ships. they had big guns sure, but they traded armour for speed. Really I don't see the point of having another ship class in the game - there's enough already.
To chat with other players hit the enter key. Press tab to choose whether to talk to everyone, to allies, or to one particular player.
Almost every time it's been attempted it's come out as disastrous. The rule in this case is that they don't work.
The Borg.
The big complaint I have with Sins is that while it does tactical battles and strategic planning, it doesn't do either deeply. In battles the player is restricted to focus firing and triggering special moves and there is no genuine tactical movements, while on the strategy side you only really build factories and pump out ships.
I feel the same way, as do many others here.
Going with this line of thought, does it then make more sense to expand out in a straight line (at least in earlier stages of the game), instead of grabbing everything near you, if you plan on doing the trade routes?
As far as I can tell the chain does not have to start or finish at your home world, as such expand in all directions.
As the TEC I build six or seven Cobalts, a colony frigate and a capital ship factory straight off the bat, and build a Capital ship as the first one is free. I usually make a Kol since I like killing rebels quickly, but that's just me. Other people like to build an Akkan since that can colonise planets on it's own. Your Cobalts go in one direction and the Kol goes in another, clearing the surrounding areas of the rebel scum while the colony frigate puts people on the ground. A
Alrighty. Two small questions. Should I bother using Cobalt-class frigates past the initial rush? Or should I just switch over to using Garda-class and Javelis-class frigates as soon as I have the tech requirement? Are Kodiak-class heavy cruisers worth building? I ask since in my experience they are the first to be destroyed in the larger engagements, which is disappointing considering they are fairly high up in the tech tree and are not inexpensive. Or could it be due to the fact
Motion sickness can be caused by the refresh rate of the screen, which can cause a flicker. You don't consciously notice it, but the brain does. I know this because some people I know suffer from it, mainly in FPS games though. To help alleviate the problem, I think you have to turn the refresh rate down. Or it could be up, I can't remember.
It makes sense that they would fight their immediate oppressors to gain independence. These are people you were conquered, by rights they should fight for their own freedom, and not to merely to trade one imperial overlord for another. It could be like during wars throughoutot necessarily to make them part of their dominion. history, say for example the Western Allies financing and equipping of insurgency groups throughout Europe in World War 2, the main purpose being to hurt the German
It is possible to ask for a campaign while playing the game you know.
The back of my game box says "4X REAL-TIME STRATEGY". If that's not advertising the game as 4X, then I don't know what is.
I'm a big multiplayer gamer. I played Medieval Total War online for years, Homeworld 2, C&C Red Alert 2, Half Life and now I have BF2142 and this game to try out. But I like a good single-player campaign with a bit of a story. The fact of the matter is that the opening intro and the box and the previews all set up this huge war. Well I want to fight that war. I want to be the TEC as the Vasari invade, and then have of fight off the Advent when they perform their dastardly deeds on my u
They really need to fix that, I end up playing pickle with my opponets fleet, I chanse them from planet to planet over and over! Its anoyying!!!
Would you prefer the AI fought to the death every single time? It's realistic, and sensible to withdraw from a fight it can't win.
The Borg were renamed as the Advent for copyright purposes.
'Lose' as in the opposite of win, or 'loose' as in the opposite to tight? If you mean the former, then it's inadequate education.
The longer a patch takes the more stuff it changes and hopefully the higher the quality. By asking for it sooner, you are risking getting an unfinished product that will only have to be patched again in order to fix things it may have broken, and thus wasted time and effort.
Meh. The Advent = the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt t service us. Resistance is futile.
Socialists as opposed to capitalists perhaps? Think of the McCarthy witch hunts in the 50's, or the Spanish Civil War. Politics can be as intoxicatingly violent as religion.
