Cortana is most definitely sentient. On more than one occasion, she's accessed files that were "classified", "restricted", or just "Don't look", for the purpose of furthering her understanding of the world, her mission, and John. She looked over his file and immediately decided that if her loyalty was torn between the UNSC and the Chief, she'd stick with John. That action, in and of itself, proves sentience. "Smart" A.I.s are not "programmed" so to speak. "Dumb" A.I.s are. "Smart" A.I.s

I don't think so. I read Fall of Reach, Halo, First Strike, and Ghosts of Onyx a few times, and I don't remember any mention of shields on any ships. As far as pulse weaponry on ONI Prowlers, since ONI is responsible for attempted reverse-engineering any and all Covernant technology and weaponry. With that in mind, it would make sense that ONI ships reap the benefits first. But I agree with Scorpion on that last bit. If it's possible to alter artifacts, I think we should look i

The theory of rampany in "smart" AI is subject to debate. Cortana's absorbed and processed more data than, I'm willing to bet, the entire UNSC AI group. The 7-year life span is not an actual, factual limit to "Smart" AI. Rather, it is a best-guess by UNSC and ONI personnel. It has been shown that "Smart" AI are capable of descending into Rampancy, then coming back to a stable state. Cortana is one example of this. I'd sit down and go into some long rants and explinations, but i

-groans- Alright, let's get this clear. YES, the UNSC had the technology to produce a shield for a single armored infantry unit. The MJOLNIR armor suit cost as much as an entire Battle Group of ships. That and the physics of creating a shield around a 2 meter tall figure differs RADICALLY when you try to produce a similarly designed shield for a ship. You have to remember, the Human-Covenant War lasted almost 30 years. It took that long to reverse engineer some stolen Jackal shields int

Technically speaking, the Tau'ri fighter is no longer the X-302. It's technically the F-302 now. There was really only one X-302, the prototype. Once they reviewed performance and smoothed out the kinks, it went into production as the F-302. The X-303 became the BC-303, even if it never actually went into production, and the X-304 became the DSC-304. Eo, VERY cool designs. Very awesome.

I'm with Auctionedllama on this one, guys. Even if the UNSC got their hands on Covenant shield technology, it would take quite a while to reverse-engineer them in order to implement them on UNSC ships. UNSC ships are definitely hull heavy. I seem to remember it was mentioned that a Destroyer had two meters of titanium hull plating.

I'd like to point out that Cortana didn't have much time to chat it up with the engineers of Earth about Covenant *coughFORERUNNERcough* technology. The Master Chief's shields were reversed engineered from captured Jackal shields. And, as stated in the novels, the Covenant don't "invent" their technology, they pilfer it from other civilizations, primarily the Forerunners. Besides, there's a vast different between given the information required for such complex defenses and weaponry and actually

There wasn't a suggestion for a different pirate faction. Just a suggestion at combining factions, though I do believe if I'm remembering correctly and haven't missed anything, that it's been said there will be six races. On another note, Stress, very nice model. :CONGRAT: I'd point out that it almost looks like a New Orleans class ship, but those lazy Federation engineers and their making ship designs all look alike. :p

Just dropping by, giving my support for the mod, and offer my nerdy library of knowledge for anything you guys might need. Still learning the basics of rendering and stuff. Sorry for the jumpiness and randomosity of the post. Writing this at 4 in the morning doesn't help much.

Hello. First off, I just want to say thank you guys for putting forth the time and effort to make a mod of, in my opinion, one of the best Sci-Fi shows to ever grace TV. I'm a Stargate fan [Can't say just how much though. I might get wacked for it.]. Now, I'm sure you've had your fill of people offering help, but I'd like to put my name in the hat, if only so I might possible contribute to a mod that I will be eagerly awaiting. Knowledge-wise, I'm almost a walking en
