I've got the game and the 1st book translated into English. To me it's a bit like the write ups to STALKER i've seen - namely a bit of a flawed gem. It has very many pluses and is worth a go. Future installments should only get better. On the other hand its quite possible to trigger quest/sub-quest waymarks without actually doing them at which point the interaction with NPC's and the resultant dialogue goes into Mad Mode. On balance i'd rather play Oblivion.

Check out the CnC forums today. KW patch 1.1 is now 4 months overdue and delayed again. The original and the expansion had huge potential but have been let down by poor patching, bugs, desyncs, disconnects and a very poor idea of game balance. The KW AI can't handle factions properly and the basic AI is a huge backwards step from TW which was at times very poor. As a mark of the game's potential I've invested hundreds of hours playing TW/KW in Brutal & Hard skirmish mode and ultimately
I'd like to see: 1/ More races. 2/ Factions within races allowing for variations in the tech trees. 3/ More ships variation from Strike Craft/Frigate/Cruiser/Capital (e.g. Destroyers, Pocket Battleships, Fighter Bombers, Hunter Killers (like submarines in space)Minesweepers...) 4/ Minefields - anti strike craft, anti capital ship etc. 5/ Buildable phase lanes between owned planets. 6/ Uber capital ships, like the planet killers in B5. I also feel that the ba
Had the game since Monday now. Really pleased. First game was a bit of a fact finder. 11.5 hours in all, well spent.
I have favourites from many genres. Its more about memorable gameplay for me than the type of game. e.g. Racing: XG3 Adventure: Shadowman Survival Horror: Resident Evil 4 Platform: Banjo Kazooie Retro: Doom FPS: Timesplitters 2. Extreme Sports: SSX3 Humour: Conkers Bad Fur Day. RTS: CnC3(TW) RPG: Oblivion I love them all. Just need to stay awake 24/7 to play them.
I have one. Its great. 2.8Ghz X7900 Extreme processor. 3 months in and i'm loving it.
Check out the CnC3 forums to get a feel for what EA does to games with a hardcore following. Game released in Beta, bug ridden. Slow & poor patching. Poor balancing. Ignored cannon from earlier installments. No forum search. Few players on online due to bugs, desyncs and disconnectors. Developing the expansion killed the main game. Then the expansion has been killed from the start as the dev team allocate resources to RA3 instead of supporting the product.<br
Timesplitters 2 is the best FPS i've ever played on its multiplayer & challenge modes alone. I played as the Gingerbread man or Calamari. Goldne oldies like Doom or Golden Eye were great fun. But Timesplitters wins for FPS, hands down. I still play it occassionally when i'm feeling nostalgic.
I've spent the best part of a year playing CnC3 & recently KW and manageing to turtle up and play out some epic 5+ hour games against Hard & Brutal AI on custom maps. 24 hours after buying SoaSE and my first game is already 3 hours old and barely started. I reckon i'm going to have to stock up the fridge with beer to keep me going. Happy days.
