The best way to use rail guns is either A) as an opener or b) as a finisher when the shields drop. Why would you ever spam Rail gun shots at a ship with max Mitgation? No what your asking for is the Kol to be overpowered so it can just run up into a fight Autocast is rail gun and drop enemy capships with impunity....
Heritor
Lol Railgun piercing shields... that would make Kols unstoppable. 4 Kols would basically kill or cripple a capship per FF shot.... Thats the stupidest idea i have ever read...

Assailants are great at killing other frigates and will put a hurting on cap ships and Cruisers due to Phase Missles. Enforcers are probably the nastiest HC in the game. Why would you not have the two ships in thier fleet that put the hurting on anything and everything? The Subverters crowd control the enemy fleet, overseers heal specific units and delay incoming enemy ships, the Enforcer slows and destroys the enemy ships, Assailants torpedo the enemy ships with phase mi
Vasari fleet not combat worthy..?
Yeah the Space Egg of Doom and the Kortul is such a nice combination. Power Surge+Disruptive Strikes+Nanite Bomb= LOL your Cap ship is gonna die.
the advantage the Devastator has over the Kol is all of the Devastator's DPS is focused forward while the Kol's isn't. The Kol must move forward and a then move in to broadside while the Kortul doesn't.... Thats why the Kortul will win against the other two.
Kortul is quite tough, has an excellent ability (the cooldown one) and can take a lot of beating too. Sadly it's somehow inferior to KOL and Radiance, you don't want to send it one on one.
Thats wierd as i have seen, used, and watch a Devastator own a Kol and a Radiance 1v1. Infact, for a while it has been common knowledge that a Kortul would beat a Kol 1v1....
Thats the tyranids. The Tyranids when they assault a planet flood the atmosphere with "clouds" of spores which is what is transporting their Army to the ground.
yes Egg = Evacuators. The Evacuator is all so known by SPace egg of Doom, the Whale ship, and the thing that just owned my Flagship.
Yes, massing Phase Missles is just gross. 20 Assailants, 2 Desolators, 15 Bombers and 15 fighters, and everything else with Phase Missles hitting a target that just got its armor debuffed by the egg is just disgusting.
In multistar campaigns RA is awesome. It frees up your resources for planet development and allows you to reconstitute a fleet with almost no down time. In a large campaign like that it can make losing large quantities of crusiers and frigates more of an annoyance then a crippling blow.
the subverter nerf might not hurt that much depending on what Repulsion is like next patch. Hopefully carriers will be good as i want to use 10 per fleet. If i read correctly 10 transports will equal 30 strikecraft or am i wrong?
Yeah the AI needs to dare i say it STAND AND FIGHT. As most of the time you murder them when they try and flee.
What type of connection you got? AA does effect me due to ATi's weakness of AA (its a big frame rate hit for me). Does it lag for you in multi or single player as this game does take up alot of system resources i have noticed. I just kill all my background programs and put my Bitdefender on gamer mode. Your processor is better then mine as mine is just an AMD 6000.
Do you have your AA on because mine is off. Also what resolution do you play at as i play at 1280X1024(max my monitor can get).
For Vasari 1. Battleship (sue me) 2. The Space Egg of Doom! 3. Carrier 4. 2 Siege (Massed Phase Missles make me happy) I play Big games so i go with 1 Battle ship and Egg of DOOM! per fleet (thats right i have 4 fleets). In the Current game battle me and my friends are playing i have all 16 cap ships so i have 4 Kortuls, 4 Space Eggs of DOOM!, 3 Carriers, and 5 siege ships. I am not a big fan of the Marauder and would rather use the s
The beginning of the post is somewhat incohesive...Also, with 1.1 about to come around everyone's opinion is about to be changed
Can you say 10 carrier cruisers per fleet (aka 40 carriers in a superfleet)? The Devastator should be nice now with both Jam Weapons and Disruptive Strikes getting buffed.
a Crossfire rig with 4gigs of ram.... What really sucks is when you get the final tier ability that lets you see all ships that are Phase Jumping no matter where they are.... It plays smooth for me though.
You can do the rapture spam and it may work on a small map if your opponent lets you do it but in a Huge game (like the current game me and some friend are playing that has literally taken me 3 days to conquer 49 out of the 869 planets....)you will have to split your fleet up into multiple groups. Its funny when someone makes a Superfleet in out game as we had one player literally had to crash his economy to rebuild his fleet. Its also fun because my main fleet has 2 lvl 9 De
The one major problem i have had with this game is despite being outnumbered i find the AI will generally opt to run instead fighting. Is there anyway difficulty settings or AI behaviours (like Aggressive which isn't really Aggressive) i should use for the game?
Tec is best in the Early game. Advent best in the mid game due to Illuminators. Advent and Vasari tie in the late game as Subverters give you a counter to guardians and RA give you free reinforcements plus the Vasari Economy is better then the Advent. Vasari cap ships are made more to fight other cap ships then they are to make your fleet better. I honestly do not understand Vasari players having trouble with Advent in the late game. Fighting the Advent is all about p
If our Transports field 2-3 fighters (hopefully 3) 10 transports (assuming its 3 per transport) will give us the ability to field 15 bombers and 15 fighters. The Vasari Carrier groups will probably be the mid/late game powerhouse. Hopefully 1.1 will bring out more diversification with the fleets. I hope that the carrier spam doesn't become the new tactic. It would be nice to forces made of more then just one or two types of ships.
I think next patch Fighter/bomber fleets will become all the rage. Heck.. 15 Bomber Squadrons are more then enough to obliterate unprotected Illums....
The Vasari cap ships IMO are geared more for anti-cap ship then anything else. The Kortul is a good example of this. Power Surge (which is very underestimated) ups the DPS and shield Regen rate which is nice when your Kortul is facing off with a Kol or any other cap ship. Disruptive Strikes is okay but the buff should make it nasty as every attack will have chance to leech 30 antimatter and increase thier Cooldowns rates by 40%. The main weakness of the Vasari IMO is thier econom
