Quoting Wrath89, reply 14the modders would be able to make significant improvements to the way things are, and (hopefully) the developers would simply give an "OK" and then copy/paste the code to go into the official game. Haven't heard of that happening - ever. There is some legal barrier stopping that from happening, I am afraid.
minecraft does :)

Ill start on it here in a few days since I am really busy with family and with the fact that I am not at home on my computer. =/
If you can, could you make a ship to ship nuclear missile that could also be used to target other things like planets? Also if you do, could you send me the files for the missile itself so I can look at them? Nice mod btw =D
Realistically, there would be very little area damage from a nuclear weapon in the vacuum of space, because there is no atmosphere to propagate the shockwave through. While it might cause catastrophic damage to a target that was actually hit, area damage would be less than impressive. Very true. Perhaps I wont put splash into this skill then but I might a similar one for the dreadnaught should this one be successful. Perhaps an upgrade
I was thinking about using the Tech Novalith Cannon missile for the missile itself and the missile do as much damage as the Nova but it can target anything ... Also, the impact will create a large flash just like the Nova did but also do some splash damage to nearby ships. Trying to make a Battlestar Galactica type mod here but I only have some actual experience at doing this. Any tips and pointers on how to do this, let me know. I would like t
I tried to add it as an individual skill but it never showed up in game.
I was working on a ship to ship nuclear missile a while back until I did everything that I thought that it required to make it. I used the idea from the Tech superweapon for the missile itself and it was going to be a lvl 6 Capitol ship skill (battleship only) that does enough damage to kill a new capitol ship in one shot. After a while of messing with it and getting no results, I scraped it. I was wondering if anyone could make a mod like this and message me with it.
lol. i figured out what i did; when i installed the game, i had a mod i made to go into it but when i went to put it in the game's program files folder, i draged the one from the original sins into it instead of the one for entrenchment. then for some reason when i uninstalled the whole thing, it didnt delete anything and when i installed it, it didnt overwrite new files into the folder either. so i deleted everything and reinstalled and it worked. and
i uninstalled the program and reinstalled it. i deleted nothing else. and i have tried the verify install and it says it is installed correctly.
what is this crap? 'Entrenchment has detected files from a previous beta installation. Please uninstall Sins and Entrenchment via Impulse and reinstall both.' i am not reinstalling this crap for the 4th time to get rid of this error.
alright; i installed entrenchment and when i started it up, it said 'Entrenchment has detected files from a previous beta installation. Please uninstall Sins and Entrenchment via Impulse and reinstall both.' did this and it still does not work... i have never even had the beta on my computer. WTF is this crap?
You could just mod the speed options in the gameplay.constants file.
no; i am looking to increase the income and not the actual gameplay... it just takes forever to get enough money to expand in the beginning of any level... that is why i am looking for this file.
One more thing now; i have almost finished my mod (it took me an hour to do and works perfectly) but i need one more tweak. That is, what file do i find the income sources for the crystal and metal asteroids? i want to increase them to make the game faster...
two more q's: 1.--do you have to edit the 'gameplay.constants to get a mod to work? 2.--when you are finished, can you just copy the files you edited into the 'GameInfo' folder to get it to work (or the mods folder if it can work) or do you have to do anything else to it to get it to work?
hey! i can see it now thanks. that will help a lot!!! :CONGRAT:
what other program can i use that is free other than notepad? i cant find a damn thing on it because it is so disorganized and types things like this: n o t e p a d. i cant find anything when it is like that. :( plus, it makes a bunch of random symbols so if someone knows a program that uses encoding that can convert ALL of the text into something i can read, i'm all ears. ex: T e c h C a p i t a l B e a m _ C o r e B €? €? €? €? €? €? €? €? @@<br
i thought that those tools only edit maps and particles... which one edits the objects (like ships and such)?
I may sound like a DA but how do you mod? I want to create a mod that will have these settings: Capitol ships: Stronger(all aspects) and more numerous(about 25-30). Supply cap: Much higher(3500-5000). Planetary Income: Slightly increase. Metal and Crystal: Increase income to about 1.0 per asteroid. Squadrons: Increase all Defense Hangers by double and capitol ship squadrons by double. Anti-Fighter Freight: Increase damage
i did and it still does not work... i have played these maps before and all of them had homeworlds... these are my favorite maps and they dont have them now that i have put in the patch...
i need help. i just installed the v1.5 patch and i no longer have a homeworld... when i start, my money keeps draining and i cant do anything...
does this patch take away the home planet every time the game starts? Now when i begin a game, i dont have a home planet and all of my money starts draining.
