this is broken in 1.05 if you leave it on autocast ships just happen to be stuck after you destroy everything in a system without being able to move at all. You can bypass it if you manually activate the ability one more time ... but it sucks to have this I never research this because of the bug I just told you

playing against Hard and unfair AI is quite nice I'm learning a lot of things from them, like: 1) the ability to adjust to my conquering fleet or 2) sending flaks as scouts when my territory is full with hangars(fighters) and PJIs, 3) retreating when the odds are not in his favor ... and many more I don't remember now

1 hangar over all your bases, 2 on the front line bases (all with FTs only) and a PJT is the counter for the scouts (2 for big planets, as they are quite limited in range) however, don't count it too much on it ... it's just a small counter and can be overcome easily the additional bonus for this "fighting scouts" strategy is that an invading fleet will have something to do until your cavalry arrives there (PJT won't let them move away easily and hangars are quite sturdy, so it take

I tried recently and it's not true in 1.05. The gate acts as a node right from the time you built it And you also get a text in the planet view saying that it's a phase node stabilized or something like this

it might be that the game is refreshing regularly on all planets from time to time and just updating it in the planet ability board or so ...

I like putting only fighters too in the Hangars and I don't change this ratio over time ... they even attack with impunity on capital ships :) jokes aside, they indeed maintain great defensive position as they kill the incoming fighters then they auto focus on frigates

I've done some of the number crunching calculations myself and I think they really show you the best part of the tech/spam balance for the game. I will make this post focused on the techs from TEC as I played them a bit more lately. There are things that can be valued exactly and things which don't. Those that don't you need to evaluate a rough value or a rough threshold. About military, mainly ships, you can do these calculations for damage, armor, hull and shield but I think
