I don't think it's a bad story, but I kinda feel like the invincible enemy plotline has been beaten to death. Nothing is invincible. The way the author portrayed some of the TEC officers is inaccurate. They're reckless and accept to many losses as a whole. Other than that, I wonder how the TEC have been "holding off the Vasari and in some cases pushing them back" if they can't even hold against an enemy that is only 1000 years ahead of them. The Vasari had ten's of thousands of warfare and te

I always go for the Kol because it's a beast that can chew up anyother cap out there any day of the week! [e digicons]:wulf:[/e]
Damn those Advent! They're not that powerful! The bloody TEC should have at least had 50% chance of taking them out. If this is all your stories are going to be about, the TEC getting bum raped, then I'm out! Advent got nothing on the TEC! [e digicons]:andrew:[/e] It should've been like "Bwee bwee bwee, oh no how could that clever and very handsome TEC Admiral outwit us the Advent again!?" The marines would be all like "KUCHUCK" as they boarded the Advent carrier and pistol whipped th
I hope the next story involves the TEC marines kicking sh*t out of the Advent. Mechs, marines, and molecular distortion rays! [e digicons]}:)[/e]
I heard that they can take on 6 caps and still win. Coupled with some decent defense they should be able to handle any midsized fleet.
Yeah I found it kinda of shocking that men at the top to such a risk in making this game. It's sad that a game the developers put their heart and soul in gets put down because its from EA. It's not the devs fault....
I want TEC space marines! Fitted with cool black mesh armor that absorbs lasers and bullets for a limited time. Oh and cool weapons like a automatic rifle that shoots tiny tungsten missiles that pierce those Advent soldiers armor and explode inside. A laser rifle too that can alternate between a continuing stream or rapid lancing. Also they should have drones like the ones for their repair ships that swarm the Advent and cut their armor open like so many cans... please? [e digicons]:')[/e]</
Are we ever going to get a update?
It's good man and challenging. Graphics are beautiful too. U have to buy it.
While I don't believe or hope that there will be spacewarfare, I think it's reasonable to conclude that spacefighters will exist. A society of generally peacefull beings won't go building large ships of destruction if there isn't any threat worthy of it. Fighters or more accuratly, small patrol craft could play a vital role in policing the space around a planet. While not capable of even challenging larger dedicated craft, they could prove useful in curtailing criminals or even stoping a larg
Man everytime I get on there's only about to people online, and the there's one private game. This whole week I've only been able to play two short 1v1.... sucks
Way too small for me buddy... [e digicons]:'([/e]
When are we going to get more? [e digicons]:smitten:[/e]
This is some good stuff man. The way you describe the situation in SoaSE was beyond my expectations. I like how you made the Trade Order control 2,000,000 worlds but still have each system controled by independent corporations. It's all very inspired and deserves more attention than 2 measly replies.
Its the female Vasari. If the men are anything to judge by, I would run too.
No wonder the crew of that ship went insane. No sailor could stand the nagging. "Sir they've penetrated our defenses. They request we take out the garbage...." "Abandon ship!"
On the possibility of fighters, I believe that we cannot in all good faith predict the technologys of the future. Can anyone here with all honesty say they know what will happen two hundred years from now? If your answer consists roughly of "to the best of my knowledge..." then you cannot predict it. Therefore, to seriously debate the possibilites is pointless, and this discussion is already over.
I think we should all just calm down, and remember this is just another internet debate. No need for anyone's feelings to get hurt. If you want my opinion though, it's that any accurate prediction of space warfare must take into consideration several variables. The first would be human stupidity. That a big one. Just because something may be cheap or better doesn't mean someone will use it. The second would be ecomnomics. Just because you can use the super planet cracke
I believe habitable planets are more common than modern scientist believe. One reason is our current method detection relies on the mass of object, meaning that smaller planets and other stellar objects would be invisible to our current means of observation. The second is that our definition for life is rather limited, and while planets similar to ours may be rare within our galaxy, other worlds could suit life. Its vary narrow minded of some people to assume that entire universe conforms to our
Yes but that would result in a massive loss of life and destruction of most of the planets infrastructure. Seriously we can't treat our compare warfare in the future with games, because these won't be pixels your killing. That kind of brutality could get you removed from the hypothetical chain of command. You've got to be precise in your attacks to reduce the unnecessary loss of life. Removing the government but still leaving the people will be the goal.
Anything can be possible, its only the matter of doing it. What if for some reason, our minds are too primitive to achieve FTL. What if we either need to change who we are or are gifted with the technology by a race that isn't limited like we are. We often consider ourselves intelligent but when compared to what creatures might even now exploring reality, we may merely be beasts. Needless to say, it is very likely that by the time we reach FTL, we won't even be human.
Radiation bombs could be impractical in the future. Lets say you have a swarm of what Falkenberg termed assault shuttles moving toward a heavily populated planet with an atmosphere. Sure you could kill them with radiation, but the collateral would be too great. That much radiation would tear a chunk out of the atmosphere that could take centuries to repair on its own. The issuing blasts would kill of much of your population if they were not shielded in some way. Even if they were, former areas o
The space fighters off the future could have multiple functions. One strikecraft could act as a fighter, bomber, shuttle, and atmospheric reentry craft. You can't land your big ship on the planet so your going to have to either capture orbital elevators or land the soldiers manually. In fact it could launch soldiers like bombs, and then extract them once the objective is complete. While this is all happening, the vessel would be fending off atmospheric defending craft and bombing targets of oppo
Well gravity would make agriculture and society in general cheaper, so that in the future planets could be used mostly for space.
I think we should all just cool down! What does this all really accomplish, blaming one another for the worlds ills? Can't we just forget our differences and play some video games? :( Please?
I think Republicans are evil! They're polluting the air and killing the turtles! On a more serious note is how backward much of our own country is. I mean I find it offensive that we African Americans are expected the be humble about our victories when McCain was spouting stuff all around the world once he won the Republican nomination. Its such a double standard. I feel like anything Obama does will come under scrutiny when McCain make all the mistakes he wants. McCain's is one the wo
