Yes. Tunngle is a VPN hybrid between Hamachi and Garena, where you have a room for each game with a limited amount of players (200+, so that's not really a problem). It is easy to handle and its chat features are more than sufficient. Go give it a try, it certainly won't bite you :P
Well, we use Steam especially for the chat functions, as we use Direct Ip for connecting to each others game. You could always use Tunngle (google it) as its free and easy to use. But i didn't know that Steam requires a game to be bought in order to be able to chat :-?

Well, if you want to play Sins on a regular basis, you may want to join the Tunngle/Steam group where we play by direct IP, as ICO is too slow for our taste.

The problem with the Kol is that you pay roughly the same money to get a ship that is way more useless/weaker than a Sova. You said it yourself, a carrier beats a battleship with the aircraft, but in return i believe it costs alot more than a battleship. Ingame, this isn't true :) a carrier destroys a battleship with easy and costs just abit more. If not for realism, this should be changed for the sake of gameplay because as of now, Kols are build just for their Flak ability. @The Dun
:) Let me elaborate. Most of the games end in over 1 hour, in this time it's very hard to build more than 2-3 capitals without being overwhelmed. And those 2-3 caps are usually carriers, colonizers and planet busters, not battleships or support caps. Also, my point was, that while a Sova can hold on its own without any support, a Kol requires a Dunov to actually become powerful. I'm not refering to "spam" as using the ability like 30 times/battle....but at least 10 times would be nice, now it's a wonder if you can at least 4-5 times. The damage is pretty low, also the Kol's manapool doesn't allow it to spam the ability more than 2-3 times, after that the Kol becomes a glorified Kodiak. And let's be serious, the damage is neglijable, after shield mitigation/armour it barely scratches a frigate, let alone a capital. Also, it just reduces the max speed to 0; that's a different thing from disabling the sub-light engines. My example with the Bombers-Flaks-Gunship was meant to show how fast the Bombers are replaced and there is very, very hard to counter them in huge numbers. The mod could use some balance tweaks, mostly on the capital ships. In every game i played, with 2 to 8 people, i've never seen more than 4 capital ships built all times, thanks to the poor ratio hp-dmg/price. Also, the sight of a support capital is very, very rare, as most of the abilities are not worth the money that could've been used to buy a carrier or a colony cap.
