Oh, for Dubaian: you could team up with the person who also suggested the Saga-Seven-Suns in a post a week ago (it shouldn't be too far back, and I remember it was a different name, so there is another who wants the same thing you do
indeeed i noticed thanks to one of the guys above lol, thanks anyway for reminding me, ill send him a message :) if the guys actually start something i could always lend my own knowledge.
Dubaian
Do you have any UK or Aus bases? Im doing year 12 programming and got an A in year 11 for a subject called programming comp games using flash and either java or C++ lol was good fun. other than that im good with all the rest, but Austalia is where im at. Send me a message when you check this thread, thanks.
heres another idea for the whole Z-axis thing. instead of having circled areas of space for the gravity wells, make them spheres for the gravity wells, and give the players the ability to make those spheres more or less transparent/opaque, etc.
- Be able to apply color schemes to your fleets, much like in Dawn of War, if such a thing were possible
now your leaning towards homeworld hehe :P even though they only had 2 styles for colour differences.
wow this has progressed since my last psot lol i remember the days when we were discussing a third race, such as the Forerunner A.I.,oh those were the days lol :P
Carbon016, i believe it is time for you to go get some friends =D My reasons for saying this are:(yep u know ur gettin it back) [X]Writing that much just to downtrod others ideas is quite pointless and silly [X]Your Karma is falling [X]My idea for the post is not to be taken as seriously as you have portrayed it []People like you alot cause your such an awesome guy [X]I believe i forgot something in the last checkbox...nevermind [X]Last one? FINALY Have a nic
damn you lol, well ill keep it up here anyway
I was wondering if anyone else has read this series? The Saga of Seven Suns. Its by Kevin J. Anderson and is a brilliant science fiction read. Now the point of this post was that i would like some of the modders on here to possibly enlist themselves into a group that would be able to create a Mod for Sins of a Solar Empire of The Saga of Seven Suns. I belie
"it's an ugly planet, a bug planet. Vassal planets
The first bit about the alien planets was so cliched lol, but i am interested in the vassal idea, however, lets just say they dont give you "too much" stuff, say if it was an ice planet, then they would only give you a greater portion of crystal, the volcanic planets will give you only a greater portion of metal, and so on for the desert, terran and such others.
I'd also like to see a campaign, but not in the traditional, mission-to-mission style. An Alpha Centauri like campaign would be ideal, where you play on a premade map and play what essentially amounts to a normal skirmish game, but as you play, little snippets of story are revealed to you via cutscene. When you come upon an important planet, you get a cutscene. When you win a crucial battle, you get a cutscene, etc.You could play the story map many different ways and have different paths
Also, sub-factions of races would be welcome. This could be done like in Rise of Nations where there are different general races (European, Middle Eastern, Asian, etc.) and their assets look the same, but there's a unique unit or two plus positives and negatives to their economy, research, and military might.
So basically do what Kanes Wrath (CnC3 exp) did, as a better way of describing it :P
If you guys need a beta tester, id be happy to test whatever you have/will have and give detailed reports of errors i find as well as suggest possible alterations for future releases. If youd like someone to test it out, just send me a message.
are there any addons/mods/updates that enable better graphics for sins than what is already there?
Mednicant ... Offensive Bias
Is Mednicant 2401? the monitor of installation 05? And what installation Offensive Bias at?
The Forerunners AI are also more like a Virtual intelligence, than a Artificial one. They have the appearance of thought, but follow the orders given to them by an actual AI (like the monitor) the Sentinels in the game and in shadow's of Onyx all follow the orders laid down by the Forerunners (in a way the Monitors do this too, but seeing as 343 sort of went insane, they must be AI) The Sentinels only goal on Onyx was to defend the Dyson Sphere. (is that right??[the Dyson part]) So the Fo
Also, the forerunners would be cool, but their ships are so overpowered. I mean, they're pretty much indestructible. So, we'd have to figure out something about that.
Indeed, perhaps they will have highest building costs of all the groups, some of the ships will more than likely need to be fan-made but im sure some awesome designs can be thought of. Also like i mentioned before, the whole halo superweapon can be downgraded in scope, as in it kills all organic life (doesnt
I think that the Flood would be a way more plausible race than the forerunners. The forerunners are DEAD, and NOTHING is going to change that, NOTHING!!! And the flood are not some mindless parasite that devour all life (although it certainly seems that way) The Gravemind is a massive brain for the flood, and he certainly seemed to be able to control his little minions in the third game. The only reason in Halo 1 that the flood were mindless is because they had no leader to help them.[/qu
When i mentioned the Forerunner Machines as the 3rd race, do you really think id be that stupid to suggest "Oh lets just give them sentinels for their ships :D" i am not that retarded Auctioned. I was heading more towards the idea Colt presented, where the fans will have to think of their own designs, possibly take insight from the Forerunner ship we see in Halo 2 and 3, but taking the weapons from the sentinels, make them larger, and use them as say the 'base' weapon. But i still think the idea
The Halo rings/Ark have been established as a goal of the mod. UNSC destroy the rings, Covenant fire the rings after a set time of course.Sentinels and Enforcers(the flying units from halo2 with the shields) will act as the militia you find at new planets, at the Halo rings/ArkI don't know if there will be a Monitor because those things are freakin' annoying and I know EVERYBODY will be shooting MACs, Nukes, and Plasma Cannons at the Monitors when they remember what 343 Guilty Spark did i
I would like to bring to light my idea for something that, if no one has realised already, a race that can really fill in the niche thats left with the main ideas only including Covenant and UNSC. I believe the 3rd race, which could be placed as the Advent (or the Verdani, which would fit into place story wise as the race that is in a way threatened by the flood), would be the Forerunner Monitors, the machines left by the Forerunners to safeguard the 7 Halo Installations as well as the Ark.
