I have been a gamer since the 80's and ever since consoles went 3D back in 96 with the N64 I have been hearing that console gaming is dying. Well guys, it's still here, alive and well. System requirements have increased but hardware prices have plummeted. It would cost twice as much money only 3 yrs ago to build a top of the line gaming rig than it does today. I found the explosions pretty good but have noticed that oddity as well. I don't know why its so hard for most games to have realistic explosions but at least Sins has great planetary explosions. The cap ship's also look amazing when they go up in smoke as well.

I'm new to this game but I have a tendency to want to upgrade my planets to the fullest asap. I didn't do any number crunching but I wanted to make the most out of the territory I own sooner. As for someone mentioning the wasted credits piling up, I have the same belief but if someone is not upgrading their planet I am assuming they are dumping their resources into construction a fleet.
