You cant scuttle the slot, you need to click on a structure and scuttle that. It will take time to disassemble, so you cant build something else until it vanishes in a poof of dust.

In hindsight, not having the ability files sort of negates the rest for me anyway, so I shall patiently wait for the official versions.
How ? I havent been able to find that.
It has to be something incedably simple I'm missing. As I said, if I paste the gate research code into the shield generator file names, it seems to work, but not when I add new research. So something is missing that ties research to the display screen. Something beyond listing it in playertech. Anyone ?
I dont consider 6 capital ships sufficient. My main strike fleet always has at least 11 and usually 13. I dont think strike craft are the answer either. At least on my machine, putting them to the numbers you have would just cause the lag to blow out. :) I upped the fighters in a squadron numbers, but did minor additions of squadrons to ships. But the way fighters and bombers behave in my games, they are not an answer to the need for quick strikes. They rarely seem to
Wouldnt it be easier to just zip up what you created, so the rest of us can download ? :)
I cant say I've expereinced this. Same goes for another vasari issue in another thread. They just dont seem to be happening in my games. One wonders if by adding 1 unfair player, the AI's all get something unfair added, some sort of bug ? It does seem to be "unfair" behaviour being shown by a 'hard'. I havent played a game yet with an unfair enemy, so that could be why I dont see these sorts of things happening. My response would be to up my fleet. Choose the battleship with th
Basic strategy : Make an ally of the enemy you most dont want to have to fight. That doesnt mean you actually help them, and any mistakes they make are yours for the having if your fast enough ! :)
Madness is also irrelevant. :)
A large part of the general community consider anyone who spends large amounts of time on the computer playing space sims to be insane ! Spending large amounts of time in forums talking about them is also largely considered a form of insanity ! :CONGRAT: As Zapphod said : "Put your analyst on danger money baby, NOW !" :)
Yes and yes. What is "Tier" ? Do the file names need to include "TECH" ? Is there any significance about where in the list of research in playertech the new ones go ? I added them on the bottom. Is it possible that 101 is the limit ?
Seems a bit pointless. Most of the time its Rebels attacking them, and they have enough planet defenses to take care of them. I've also seen the case where the planet being attacked was wiped out, the AI constantly asked me for help, and yet the next planet along was churning out a huge battlefleet and sending it the other way. Could have redirected 6 ships and saved its own planet, but instead it tells me to go yonks out of my way to save it. Not very bright ! I let it be killed and t
TEC Civilian. I've tried 4,2/5,2 ; 3,1/4,1 ; and 6,1/7,1. Essentially trying to get them just below the shield generator, but in 2 adjacent empty spots.
Spelling is irrelevant ! :)
It was a case where my other ally had beaten them back, and they retreated back to my lines (based on my other side). They nearly made it actually, but a new fleet jumped in and drove them to retreat. Not sure why they didnt try the same enemy but different phase lane tho. So I guess they had no-one else they could attack, and I had been very unhelpful.
I'm trying to add 2 new research buttons to TEC. For the life of me, I cannot get these to appear. I can get the new ones to replace existing ones by renaming the new files to an existing name. I'm changing the position codes to empty spaces, as far as I'm aware, but nothing seems to work. I've added them to playertech and changed the counter to 103 from 101. What am I missing ?
I kept getting this for a while. What is it supposed to be telling me ? It gives no indication of where is being hit, who is hitting it, and what action is being asked for ? Can anyone explain this ?
Well......that was interesting. Suspect ally pulled the plug on everything at 72% !!! Was after I yet again failed a mission to hit my other ally, which makes me wonder if there is a counter for mission failures after which the plug is pulled regardless of the love status. So, being caught well short, I desperately asked for a cease fire and actually got one, about 30 seconds before the shooting began. That gave me enough time to get the bulk of my fleet back home, and
Hue of Borg : "Resistence is not futile ?" :)
That all worked really well ! :) Thanks for that. Wont be playing on line, so not a problem.
I have 2 allies. One on each side of me. (130 odd planets in 1 system, with 10 players, all hostile at first). They hate each other ! So one of them has parked a fairly sizable fleet on my front lawn, and I've had to send my home defense fleet off to do a task set by the other ally. Now to make matters worse, the ally on my lawn has twice sent me "Your days are numbered" messages (that I've noticed), for the planet they are parked at, which is also my Home Planet ! Is
The thing thats annoying me at the moment is that all the missions are against my 2 allies, and each ally wants me to trash the other one. I'm actually quite happy with both of them, so I dont want to attack either, at least until I get rid of the other 7 (2 down, 5 to go). But the ways its going, I'll be forced to choose pretty soon. Unfortunately, the one thats more important to keep allied, is the one with the biggest hit for failing, and since they are TEC as well as me, it
These sorts of games always have a big learning curve. So start small, and expect to get wasted by the AI for the first few games. Start on easy, low numbers of enemies, low numbers of phase lanes. Learn from your mistakes. When you come up short on something, go looking for what might have provided it better and faster. Before you do anything major, save. If you get your behind handed to you, reload the save and do it a different way. Then do it again. If you still cant find a good way
Online is not always a valid option. Here, we regularly get 2 minute "breaks" in the bandwidth, where nothing happens. I can think of nothing worse than a battle starting, you start giving orders, no bandwidth for 2 minutes, and by the time you get an update and can give orders you find you've already lost because the ships had no guidance. Or worse, the request times out and hangs the game on your computer. One of the disadvantages of being in Australia, the link to
Brilliant ! :) That gives me something to play with today ! :) Thankyou !!!
