Oh yea, that is defently not something to be trying to implement right now but I did want to get an idea of if it would ever come to the game so that I can come up with some tech for it and jsut leave it out of the trees until the ships are updated in the future for it to work.

Exactly this is why in my example I showed one that raised planet allegiance or resilience. This way it would increase tax rates or extraction rates to make up for the trade deficit. Also when you upgrade your fleet you take a permanent % hit for those extra ships. I think it could be interesting to see research do something similar where you may take hits in some places to make gains in others but later down the road there may be another upgrade that eliminates the negative such as after the

Something I realized when trying to come up with ideas for an EA tech tree. What dates are we starting/ending in? The victory project is from after the earth gets plagued. Are all the races supposed to be on the same timeline or are we altering it to try to make the game more balanced. For example having the minbari start further in the past than the EA. Or
As for the jump points in gerneral I found this very intresting: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/365247 According to this user he was able to make it so a single ship could jump directly to any planet it wanted at will. If this was tied into the existing jump point ability it could be made so that it is easier for users to tell the ships what place to go to. As for the organic tech we see this used by the minbari

Ah, so you had basically the same idea that I did. Personally I have always felt that tech trees should tell part of a story about a given race and that goes for any game. I have always felt that the items in a tech tree should not only be upgrades but should also give the player a sence for the culture of the given race. When I was looking for images for the loading screens I found some great images that people have come up with for a ton of differnt structures that look amazing! I can post them up if anyone want them. The images range from minbari space stations to earth trade ports to mining bases.
As for the poly count is it actually engine limited or is the issue more of a problem with users computers?

I was thinking that for the Minbari instead of simply making the general tech worker worrier and religious why not use them for subsections instead. I think that this will make more sense and will help show how the three work in the same areas in different ways in order to empower the whole. For example in the military tech all three casts have research: warriors research is things like better weapons, religious unlocks technology like white stars and better command abilitie
How would you like to report bugs for this mod? Any particular place or formatt? I tried out the minbari the other day and noticed that some of the tech tree will not select. In addation you can reasurch docks for space stations in the tech tree but you can not buy docks in the actual spacestation. Also great work on the mod so far! It is going to be so awsome to finally have a B5 space game like this!
Sorry for being such a noob, but what do I need to do to install this and play it? I placed the files in the sins mod folder for version 1.17 but it shows a few files in the mod settings ingame. Even if I do enable one of them I do not see anything that allows me to play the mod. Also, great work so far and hopefully we can finally have a great B5 mod!~
Yea, a starbase to me says that it should always have longer range than 95% of everything attacking it. The only thing that I would allow to ahve longer range than a starbase would be the anti structure unit. This way a player has to use ships or fighters to take those out. I think that the sulutions posted above are great and I would love to see them ingame. [e digicons]|-)[/e]

Yes, a tacticle display like the one used in supreme comander would be great to easily evaluate the effectiveness of your defences and as an emeny to easily identify the week points in your oponents.
One thing that I think is clearly needed would be the development of range based dammage. This would then create huge changes in the way that diferent ships need to engage in order to be effective.

In that case there should be the ability to set them from that formation to one where the samller ships put themselves in the way so that they will take the hits from enemy weapons thus protecting the bigger ship with there lives. This would be usefull for defending a cap ship that you need to escape with.
Actually I would like to see if some one made a "sword" mod that allowed battles in phase space or in between the planets like the series banner of the stars. Now that would be really cool!
Yes but, what I am also saying is the ability to have some ships attack only particular targets. For example When you fellt moves past 1 enemy unit each ship fires 1 shot at it and by the time the fleet has passed it it has been destroyed. (assuming your formation is in a single file line) Or you have the fleet in one formation and then instantly split it into several to turn the tables on your oponent and begin to out flank him.
