I don't mind waiting until October, as long as they covered the major problems.

Uh, from my personal experience, I usually build tiny ships with 0 attack and 0 defense equipped with those fleet +x% addons. They never get shot at first.
Ctrl+N is basically saying "I accept that the computers will have the disadvantage of not controlling where they start and therefore not really playing the game for it's full complexities". "Cheating" to make the game simpler doesn't get you anywhere :-\. It's like restarting a game because you want more powerful tile boosts on your homeland. Some people say "it's a game, it's about having fun". Well I don't understand how people have fun playing a strategy game when they c
Winning diplomacy and cultural victories with humans is just too easy on suicidal. I'm turned those victory conditions off because it makes the game a sad experience. Nice of you to post tips, but I don't think anyone can't figure those out by themselves on their first game :-\.
1/ I get the same results all the time too. 2/ I sometimes get a planet that does like my capital, but usually other capitals that I conquer through influence(and have 16bil pop) are happier than my capital :-\ 3/ No clue what you mean. I play terran a lot.
They are good if you want a devastating opening against an ally (or close/friendly player) just build some terror stars next to their suns and in the first week they are blasted out of the universe The best betrayal ever.
Exactly. In medium sized maps and less its devastating. I was allied with the Drengin, but he eventually took everyone out and I had no means to take him on in a battle. He was about to get a technological victory (I could've before him, but I decided
I keep running into this one lately and it's annoying me more than anything else. The maximum lenght of ship's names! It should be doubled at least.
That would require for them to change the variable type they used for the name. Don't think they'll do that.
I have to admit that I am disappointed myself. I purchased this game because I read great reviews about it and it's supposedly amazing AI ... but I recently started playing on Suicidal ... it's really easy if you're just trying to win. It's like I have to give myself extra goals to accomplish during a game to have any challenge. I do very much hate when a poor AI is compensated by non-player bonuses. If only there was a satisfaction warranty :P. If Stardock would be activel
Not to ruin your fun, but you do realize that the universal translator means it translates any language. Meaning that the output would be done with good grammar... These touches you do to make your races more unique just doesn't make sense because of the universal translator.
There isn't, I misunderstood at first.
I was wondering myself why they did nothing but hang-out during the campaigns. I'm guessing we are supposed to get more info in a later expansion/galciv3.
I think the term military was just vaguely used to mean any spaceship, as freighters and such are in the same category. Seeing it as a spaceship group rather than military makes the current system logical.
Well the point thats made here is that you never actually bought the game :-\. You bought the license for it. The game itself is free to download, but it's not freeware. Quite f* up really. I personally agree with you and dislike this form of sale. Although I really like galciv2 (and expansions), I will most likely never buy a Stardock product again. (Although that decision is also based on other factors like poor quality programming and support)
If they were truly 'random events', you wouldn't have to do that!
I know, I was jokingly trying to find an upside to these not-so-random events :P.
What kicks off the peacekeeper robots?
In my experience it was when the evil races where way too dominant on the map.
That would be fun, but I'd be sad if I saw that get added and not some of the major issues :P.
I could see the use of a slider for deciding between 0-50% of the social prod to micro manage your income, but the limit at 50% is there for a reason. Else whats the point of having any military production at all?
You were playing on challenging. The issues were reported on high difficulty levels with larger than medium galaxies. Therefore the issue would be in the AI on high level difficulty when it comes to big galaxies.
But who's the consumer? Their black market is axed towards other races, not themselves. Thus it fits in trading.
Cry and hope you'll wake up to a game that you didn't pay to be a beta tester for :-\. On a serious note, you're probably better off loading an auto-save or previous auto-save.
My game crashes about 3 times per game on average. It gets really irritating at times... Is there a way to reduce these crashes? I feel like I'm playing a game coded with no exception handling.
Usually pressing space through your fleets will solve it. Saving and rebooting the game (and then loading the save game) worked for me the first time. Its usually an issue with the autopilot.
I guess if you play the same style over and over, you can start predicting these events and incorporating them in your strategy :P.
Actually I find it quite logical that a trade civ wouldn't tax their population a lot. If we look at our history, any city that was flourishing due to trade would have very low taxes and citizens would live very easy lives. This applies/d to cities all over the world from many different cultures too. As for the entertainment possibilities, well I guess Brad designed them like that either to balance to race or because he thought of the race as one where they would constantly be busin
I'd say it has to do with your playing style. In my last game I encountered several events that all can be linked to my style of playing:-Jagged Knife occurred after a long time of relative peace in my galaxy.-Sudden extreme influence boost to another race occurred when I was busy constructing influence bases and pursuing the influence-track of the tech tree most of the time.-Precursor ranger popped up after a number of abrupt war/peace alternations. Some of the events might be truly rando
I tested with Korath spore ships and my production was 1 (both military and social). I guess I had other bonuses that came from different sources that weren't affected by the world type. My bad.
