Cannot control ships or pan the screen view, by the keyboard please help !!!! in Technical Sins Forums

Hi, My sons version of Sins has developed a fault (latest patch), when trying to pan around with arrow keys, or use the keyboard for enything, ie to move the ships about with tab and mouse nothing happens. The key bindings do not work as the keyboard keys are pressed and nothing appears on screen. I have tried my keyboard and mouse to no avail. When typing to other players in game ie enter and then type in screen box all keys work so the keyboard works in the dialogu
