Greetings fellow Trekkies. I have not been to these forums for many moons, so perhaps you are aware of this, but just to be safe, I wanted to inform you guys that your links for the Entrenchment version are not active, except for the patch file. If you are aware of this, I apologize for restating this! Happy modding! ~Tyndaria

Hi there Maelstrom. I just found this thread and investigated. Your pictures are mighty fine looking, so I decided to give it a shot. I downloaded your entrenchment version, which I realize is quite beta, having read most of this thread. I tried a game by myself as the Traders. Seconds after the 2nd auto save (which is the default time, every 15 minutes), the game gave me a minidump. I remembered what was said here about turning settings down to achieve the < 2 gig limit and did so, reload
I think I might pop over to your forums. One of my majors at uni is German and next year I will spend five months in, *ahem* the Fatherland. I'd be pleased to record German phrases, if you guys ever need them. I am also starting to learn some Russian, though I'd only want to record for you guys if you have no better options (German is my specialty). I also will maybe register so as to confer with any of you fine folks that are the main story writers for the Germans. Being an occasiona
Maybe if it's easily possible (I'm no modder) you could have optional files for either, similar to the optional dynamic movement used in other mods. Swap out a couple of files and bam! The Germans are saying "Jawohl Herr Kapitän!" and so forth *insert Silent Hunter III German dialogue here*. But I don't know if that would be simple. Regardless of how you go, I just hope they don't sound like stereotypical angry "Nazis". I'm glad that CoH didn't go that route for most units. Grenadiers so
That said I know we have tried to tone down the German side from the ideology of the Nazi party to a more Prussian-esque faction. I believe in our timeline Hitler and much of the German leadership was killed in 1944. Yeah thats a good point to raise, doing anything related to WWII does bring up a bunch of questions as to how you want to portray Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union so we're tried to go as neutral as possible. We've even
"Unlike the Empire of Japan, the Reich makes little use of permenant puppet states or protectorates, directly absorbing worlds or states directly into its national body over time with justification presented by the Constitution and national policies. Had the Imperium of Deutschland succeeded in maintaining control over the New Weimar Republic, it would have been reintroduced into the Reich completely." -- From your wiki article on the GGR. I've not read your whole history. I will
I just watched your trailer for the Imperial Navy, guys. Very nice, indeed! I enjoyed the Dawn of War music and the excellent transition from a single frigate to a whole fleet at the beginning. Well done, good sirs. While I am, traditionally, a footslogger who doesn't know anything about you fleeters, I eagerly await the chance to fight the hated heathens of the dark gods at the helm of a mighty battleship! Tis good to hear your project is having excellent progress, as
Well, I messed around with the latest version. First off, by the Emperor's left ball, the visuals are incredible! I love the new buildings and the ships have even better details! The only concerns I have are about things you have intentionally, so I don't expect vast, if any, changes: Ships die VERY fast. Now, I don't mean an über battle of a hundred plus ships. I mean, ten minutes into the game I have a cap ship and some frigates taking the nearby planets held by rebels and the
Excellent! I shall take a scanner and recon this new version and report back to the admiralty at the first possible moment!
You know, I watched an episode of Enterprise the other day, the one where they found a Borg Sphere in the Arctic. I never really liked Enterprise, except for T'Pol of course..hehehe. But I still loved this one episode, and no matter how many I've seen I still get chills when I see a regeneration chamber!!!
Ahh, Regeneration. One of my favourite episodes of my favourite Trek. I'll be honest: I am
"Target the reavers... TARGET THE REAVERS! TARGET EVERYONE! SOMEBODY FIRE! " Heh heh. I would like to see a mod that adds a few random ships, such as Serenity, the NX-01 Enterprise, Outrider, Millennium Falcon, etc etc. to the game. They would be special trade ships and stuff rather than combat units. Ya know, just for fun to see Reynolds and co. or Dash Rendar zooming around on commerce missions.
im so happy to see this mod still going (to behonest i was gona give up on you , but i stayed true) THe planet look great very imperial. Remeber the Adpetus Machanicus will buidl on every bit of land they can get there hands on so it donst matter how hevly buit ona planet looks. Great stuff look forward to a next stage beta release or somthing
Hands... claws... gears... gizmos and gadgets. Anything they can get anything on ^_^
Feudal worlds maybe? And how about those fortresses, ehhh, Black Stone Bases or whatever they're called. Like giant blank pyramids that are hella strong but ultra rare nowadays. Maybe they could be some sort of capturable thing? Would Death worlds be harder to capture from an enemy since the landing troops (if you are still doing that instead of planet bombardments like in vanilla Sins) would have to fend off the enemy and the planet both? Also, are ice worlds like Valhalla and desert
Well, I guess that is good. I suppose if you kill anyone who doesn't like mass killings, genocide, repression of nearly all thought, so on and so forth, then it probably runs like clockwork. But at least you guys are still at it. That's grand :)
Ok swiss its just the photo and you saying comrad alot, but ya the soviet union was awsome
Apart from the mass killings... and censorship... and repression... *ahem* That aside, how is this mod doing? I've not checked it much over the last couple months and it looks like you're moving along nicely :-)
Okay, well, I thought I saw a Soviet fighter with a hammer and sickle. And when you say "Iron Cross" do you mean an Iron Cross such as this... http://www.bundeswehr.de/portal/a/bwde/kcxml/04_Sj9SPykssy0xPLMnMz0vM0Y_QjzKLd443DnQHSYGZASH6kTCxoJRUfW99X4_83FT9AP2C3IhyR0dFRQCsXOUq/delta/base64xml/L2dJQSEvUUt3QS80SVVFLzZfQ18xNDRS?yw_contentURL=%2FC1256EF4002AED30%2FW27D5HNQ888INFODE%2Fcontent.jsp Not that this is a link to the official Bundeswehr website and it is in German. Just look at th
Okay. Thank you Swiss Knight. Will there be swatztikas, pictures of Hitler, etc. on their ships or anything? I think the Iron Cross would be in better tastes. And I mean the Iron Cross, not the Greek Cross that the Wehrmacht used. The Iron Cross is the cross that was used before, and now after, Hitler. Actually, I think the Greek Cross began being used in late WWI. Regardless, the Iron Cross is better. And what about ship classes? Will there be ships named for Dritte Reich (Third Empire; Hitl
So... I don't suppose there is any ETA on a demo or, dare I say, a beta release? I know, not likely. But I can hope, can't I?
Okay, I just skimmed the rest of this topic. Perhaps I will address my question in a different one as this seems to have boiled down to *ahem* ... discussions... about what makes a good game, FPS, Scifi Universe, and so forth. The only comment I would like to add is that I still believe Goldeneye 007 (yes, that's right: N64 Goldeneye!) is the best FPS of all time, but I tend to stick to things that started a new wave- in this case, First Person Shooters. I do not know what was the fir
Ugh, this should NOT be done. Ever. Halo is a repetitive, boring fps with a cheesy storyline and characters filled with a preteen crowd of brats with no friends and adhd. It's an overplayed over hyped game that's only fun at parties.
I do agree with you for the most part, though I would use different adjectives. But I only wish to say that. If the mod is fun, then I'll probably play it
(I hope not. I really want to kill Space Nazis.)
I really hope the German faction isn't just that... National Socialists in space... some of us are German, be it citizens or (in my case) in ethnicity. I don't mean to sound like I am whining about society's common stereotypes and/or ignorance but... if I download this mod when it is finished, the Germans will be the first faction I play as I have great

C-3PO goes right past the motivator being ripped out and goes straight to target practice for Space Marine heavy bolters. Although being used for lascannon target practice by Try Again Bragg is
If I were to choose a Chaos god in 40k, it'd be Tzeentch because of the relationship the Sons have with my favourite sons, the Sons of Russ. For fantasy, Slaanesh is the way to go. But, regardless, note the first word I said: "If". The Emperor protects! So... this mod, I must say, looks pretty sweet. How many souls do you guys sacrifice each day to keep it going? Is your body count greater than the organic meatbag on the Throne? *Hm, HK-47 comment there*
I wonder if SC2 will stand next to other recent RTS games, such as Relic's Warhammer 40k Dawn of War, or even better, Relic's Company of Heroes. I will likely get SC2 because the first one is so close to my gaming heart, but everything I've seen... just seems like updated graphics for SC. Will they implement cover, destructible environments, squad tactics, etc. that appear in other games out there (such as the aforementioned Relic games)? Will their air vehicles float like in SC or have to land
They ruined a great story by Michael Crichton? Heresy! Burn the company that made it!
