Downloaded files back up in Sins of a Solar Empire Sins Forums

I just purchased and downloaded - installed (with Impulse ) the game (SOaSE) and it runs fine, but where are the downloaded files so I can make a back up and what is the procedure to reinstall the game after a format ? Thank in advance.
