Reply to impulse stuck at validating registration in Sins of a Solar Empire Sins Forums

OK three of us at diferent locations have the same problem with Impulse updating. It says preparing to update for a long time then returns with an error message "Problem beginning download - Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
