I've personally tried putting the wormhole artifact on the pirate's home world but it didn't work (or maybe they didn't explore the planet to find it). Anyone else have ideas?
Each wormhole goes to only one other wormhole in a two-way link. You find out what the link is when you send them through.
So, when designing a map, each wormhole can only have ONE worm-lane into and out of it? IOW, if you have one central wormhole and it links to four outside wormholes, it won't work?

Cool, that works, even though it's slightly ass-backward! [e digicons];)[/e] Just as FYI, it's "Program Files (x86)" for Vista users... I didn't specify on my original post that I was a Vista operator. I'm sure you knew that though.

My game isn't installed in the "normal" directory... I'm too picky about what goes on which HDD. Am I screwed? It says... found sins version :: need sins version:1.15.0:

Where do you "install" this program into? Root SoSE folder? Galaxy folder? Any folder? When I run it, it says it has found version :: even though I have updated my SoSE to 1.15.

Plenty of posts on this stuff guys... it has to do with your personal maps still being setup under 1.13. The patch doesn't know how to update your personal maps for some reason. You'll need to find your Galaxy Folder [ > users > user_name > appdata > local > Ironclad Games > SoSE > Galaxy ] and delete / move all your maps. If you made the map in GalaxyForge, hopefully a new version will

Yeah, my bad Blair... I didn't read your post in it's entirety. The maps I've designed I've installed into the galaxy folder in the root, main installation directory of SoSE; do those ALSO need to be removed? I guess that brings forth another question... SHOULD the maps be installed into the AppData folder or into the installation folder?

Just FYI... there are TWO galaxy folders... the aforementioned folder AND one under "My Documents > User_Name > App Data > Local > Ironclad Games > SoSE > Galaxy" Removing those files should allow you to create maps in-game until the new GF comes out.

Yarg! Thanks for the clarification... I'm putting in pirate bases and removing the lanes to/from the stars. Like I said, I'll post a link to the map once I update it for 1.14.

It's worked for me but I've lost my saved games as expected... Next question is obviously when will the next Galaxy Forge be released so all us mappers can re-release our maps?

The update is out but I'm reading that several people are having problems with 1.14... to the point where it won't even start.. fail

True, thanks for the suggestion / idea DChan. Apparently my original idea is not possible so I'll fade back five and punt. I'll post a link to the map when I'm done!

I find this whole thread interesting. "Official" add-ons made by Stardock / Iron / etc. are housed in the directory in which it was installed in. However, all mods are placed into the User's Account personal file. It would have made more sense (as far as keeping with the previous way that "mods" were added to the game) to have Entrenchment installed into the User's Account file. Personally, I pre

Thanks for the post DChan but that sure looks more like a mod to the game rather than just a map or star properties edit. Is this true? I was hoping to not require players to activate a mod just for my little ol' map.

Thanks Mab for the idea but I'm trying to consider that "Option Z: A Last Resort." If all else fails, I'll remove the phase lines from the Stars and include a pirate map in each outter system (Yeah, I forgot to include one at all!). Thanks for the props Shadow... means a lot coming from someone who has the Karma you do! (Not really ass kissing but just a compliment). I'll post up a link for people to
or why not just disable the jump to distant star but enable wormholes travelling?
Sorry, I didn't see your response dchan... Yes, that is what I think I want to do. So now my question becomes... how?

16 Replies 13,975 Views

Thanks for the quick reply Shadow but I obviously left out some details... For simplification, I've taken a screen shot of my galaxy so you can see what I'm talking about...

Hello all! I've read through many pages (18 pages in the beginners thread and now about 10 pages of thread titles) and have yet to find anyone asking this question so here is a bit of explanation before the question. I've got 6 star systems around a main, central star system. A wormhole connects each of the six outer systems to the middle system. Each outer system has phase lines between the

Can we get an update here please? The second link ( www.sins.bz ) is now defunct and the first one requires you to download a proprietary download manager just to get the replays. Even still, there aren't any recent version uploads (1.11 and prior) so do those even work with the current build? Since we
