what to do when impulse states "verifying download" for 30 mins. in Technical Sins Forums

I jusst downloaded the update for sins via impulse yet its stuck on saying verifying download, what am I missing here? I tried to verify it by right clicking and clicking the verify download but it isn't working Its also saying that my copy of sins is not installed correctly and that I need to look for an application update. But i've had no issues in the past.
