yeah that would be really cool I also really badly want to be able to upload my own Logo for my Faction, im talking about the 40 or so triangles and circles patterns you get to chose as your faction logo on at the begining and it appears on all your ships and planets. btw, i find it really strange how i can run SINS very very easily and smoothly with top graphics but cannot run World in Conflit on the SAME machine! Its lags really slow and the graphics are in chunks not smooth

Can TEC Nuke Cannon superweapon be fired across Star systems? I have developed 3 Cannons in a single Solar System but my enemies lie across the galaxy in another Star System. When i try and fire the cannon it says "has to be explored", so i explore the planet and then fire and the Cannon turns and shoots but when i try and track the shot i cant because it disappears after a short while. Does this mean i have to keep a fleet on the target planet for the shot to hit it?
What a waste of time that was! its near useless! The only visible effect it had on the planet was increased "culture" - Compared to the TEC Nuke this weapon sucks bigtime.
Interesting! There is a planet very close to me, which i have had a eye on for some time, its alligeiance is showing at 50% because i have researched other culture bonuses, so does this mean that hopefully i should be able to take it without the sword? This would be very handy because the empire whom the planet belongs to is the only one who is friendly to me in a sea of 7 other competitors, i want the planet - but i dont want to go to war with them yet, i think i'll give it a shot! ;
Hi, do the Advent have a super-weapon like the Cannon Nuke of the TEC ?I nearly finished researching everything and cant seem to find it I could sure use a Nuke or something right now. Also what is the Vesari superweapon?
lol tell me about it bro, this game Rocks. I downloaded the demo for this and Galactic Civ, and after 90 minutes i dashed out the door to grab myself a copy before the stores close lol Coming from a Total War/Age of Empires/Command & Conquer background this game fit my tastes like a glove.
He must have maxed out on labs and researched nothing but Missles before you attacked, he then let you take his planets and pooled his resources to buy 1 cannon lol What i dont understand is, how did you lose? If you had 12 planets and he had 3, and if your fleet was twice as big as his, why didnt you go focus all your power on destroying the Cannon? Even if you lost a lot of your fleet, you had 12 planets so you could rebuild and re-arm much quicker than he could.
Excellent :) Im looking forward too it and im even more glad others have brought it up! I really think they hit the gameplay, navigation, graphics and balance nails on the head. But adding advanced Diplomacy and Espionage features will give it that extra spice which is what retains loyal gamers ;)
Okay, im playing a map with 3 Star systems and over 50 planets. In my Solar system ther were 4 factions, and i managed to wipe out one so far but now the Solar system is divided between me and the other 2 factions with whom i have a uneasy ceasefire, and lukewarm trade agreements with the other. Now my point is, at this stage i dont want to move against any side directly because it would upset the triumvirate and balance of power and leave me open
Dude HOW ON EARTH can you say Galactic Civilization is better than SINS ?? Just so you know, i am Total War fan and i have played every single TW game, my fav being Medieval 2, and im looking forward to TW Empire and SINS is alot like Total War in Space. Civilizaion may have alot of depth but i never got passed the demo because its just sooo urgggh UGLY!!!!!!!! In Civilization and Galactic Civ the units are the same size as the cities/planets - doe
I have to tell you personally i really dislike Steam because it has given me nothing but problems. I always try to buy a hard-copy of my games, and thats what i did with SINS. Also, as a newbie, can i ask what exactly is Impulse? is it a Stardock's equivilant download system or is it a patch of some sort? When i registered on the forum yesterday it gave me the option to download Impulse but i have not done so far. Do i need it, considering i bought SINS on disc?<
AH, so there is a distinction between starting with a "planet" and a "homeworld" ! lol i had to learn that the hard way!
Thanks guys, i finally got the hang of it! Although having said that i still cant win on "Fertile Crescent" Map because you start with very undeveloped planet, cutthroat pirates and a equally challenging adversary on the other side of the solar system, the challenge is compounded by the fact that resources are scare until you get to the 'fertile crescent' which you will have to fight tooth and nail to secure and hold! I used the tips above in another map, and after a sho
Actually i think i hit the nail on the head, is it because some Maps the RESOURCE GATHER RATE is LOWER ?? For example, in this map (Fertile Crescent) the gather rate for Minerals and Metal is 0.13 which means it takes forever to collect. is there any way of Speeding up the game (i dont just mean the refineries) but i mean actually making the game x3 or x5 times faster?? Wow, what can i say, just got the game and im loving it! But i am stuck in a dilema at the start of every game, which is wether i should a) Upgrade my planets and Tech up first or b) build fleets ASAP and go out and conquer and expand my empire? One map that forced me into a "credit crunch" was the map "Fertile Crescent", im finding it real tough maintaing a balance. For the first time in a game so far, my economy is actually in negative figures! and the
