Well, long story short, I lost my "Game.prefs" file in Demigod. Which meant I lost all progress, etc in the game. After thinking about it awhile, I started to get a little upset that there wasn't an ability to "Restore" these settings. First thought, "Where's the backup?". Second though - "Did System Restore save a copy?" Yeah, it meant I'd have to rollback some OS updates, to get at it.... Then, it occurred to me - why can't "Impulse" have an opt

Well, looked at the file "Game.prefs.bad" with a binary editor. 33k of '0''s. sigh.
Thanks, couldn't remember the name of the file...... I have two, actually, a "Game.prefs" and a "Game.prefs.bad"..... I wonder if anybody can help "fix" the "Game.prefs.bad".
Been playing a long time and I lost everything.
Been playing demigod for a long time and have latest greatest verison with Occulus. Yesterday (Feb 4-5 late nite-am) game crashed to blue screen. Didn't worry about it at the time. Windows update pushed a few security fixes, email filter and new remote desktop client. Today (Feb 5-6 late nite am) Demigod wanted a profile in order to start. I went to Impulse and didn't get any connection (HTTP 500 server error) on checking for "updates". Now, Imp

This is gonna cause of lot of confusion in Boston.
Brad, were you even 30 in 2000? :) C'mon these might be the BEST MARKETED games. How could you leave out MechWarrior 3. 1-the first Direct3D game (that I'm aware of), 2-pushed the envelope with multi-axis joysticks. 3-realtime multiplayer.
Yeah, can't figure out what drivers to get for my gateway laptop. It has embedded ATI Radeon Express, which has been moved to AMD's legacy. Latest legacy drivers won't even install, because chipset not recognized. Sometimes you REALLY just CAN'T get the latest drivers, sigh. Oh, it IS a DirectX 9.0c card..... it SHOULD meet minimum (2 gigs, XP 32bit on a Turion AMD64 dual-cpu)
A fix for a crash involves deleting a file - presumably one that is causing the crash. This file also appears to be a valid DesktopX file. Question - does DesktopX get used? I think I have an pending update which I haven't yet applied ( p.s. I'm using StarDocks's skinning on my Vista box).
Deleting family tree works for me too. !!!! Quick question: How many people have DesktopX installed? When I look at the file and double-click it, in explorer, it launches as a DesktopX desktop gadget. Could there be any interaction?????
Same here, Vista SP1, ATI 9700 http://pastebin.com/m57e908bb
I get an opening screen, a cursor, no text and then it drops out of memory. Never a FRIDAY - something goes wrong poeple work over the weekend. Rarely a MONDAY - people are too tired from working on the weekend. THURSDAYS is the golden day.
Even frogboy said its perty rare that they do
I do believe that is incorrect. Regardless, the netcode is mostly Stardock and RakNet. Demigods are GPG. New demigods are supposed to be in v1.1, not v1.01. I don't see how it'll be a DLC, as that implies an optional download. Due to the game engine being P2P, all machines would have to "know" about the new demigods, regardless. However, even though demigods are GPG, they probab
Wait for Stardock to give a time estimate, then take the time (in days) between the present and the estimated date, multiply by two and add 5-20% of the estimated time to the total. That is when they will be released.
The rules of releases: If a release is announced for any month, expect it to be the last working day of that month, or the first working day of the next month. Okay, here my code, first to use it wins: :) Coupon Code: DG-PWNC-EUUG-HTQR p.s. If you use it succesfully, please respond in thread to prevent frustrations for other folks. p.p.s. If you use it succesfully, a karma point would be nice. :)
Well that sucks. I kinda remember Frogboy talking about folks uploading their AI's. It would've probably been smarter to set AI's in either a new Lua environment with a proxy _G or a completely separate thread with it's own Lua runtime.
I was just wondering what information can AI's gather? a) Do the see kills, like human players do? (ie. after a kill, it's a bit like a power-play in hockey, you know they are a man down....) b) Do they get the "war rank" has increased message? (cool - now I can get ... upgrade ) and of course I forgot a bunch of things, as I've been pondering this a bit. I guess the real question is: Do AI's run in the same Lua runtime. If so, an AI has access to just abou
Perhaps, Stardock being so creative and connected to it's customers, could think of ways to curb this.
They are, unfortunately, until the stats get working, there is little hope for the match-making system. --- uhhh, you know, the MATCH-MAKING SYSTEM , things the keeps the pros and the newbies apart. Seriously, if it worked right, most games should be pretty darn close - the the quitters would only be playing amongst themselvs. :)
trust me suicide oak ruins fortress matches, nothing worse than having a close fortress match get down to 1 fortress each just to have the oak player suicide to finish the last one while you are trying to kill towers jus to be able to hit theirs.
Yeah, been there, done that. We were getting creamed and I was Oak. Didn't see much to lose, so I added the Last Stand ability at first opportunity to do suicide runs. Guess what - once the other team saw that
Okay, I can see that only serious (read as not-fun) people that needs the stress of competitive play with lightening fast reflexes, constantly analyzing the situation, making strategic choices, etc. I guess I just wanna have a little fun, to balance the day. Of course, c'mon - for COMPETITIVE play it wouldn't be there, just like having a NO FAVOR ITEMS for truly competitive play. Think of it as a "Finger of God" gone wild. :) If you are visualizing OP gods killing
