Tried searching, I know the search is broken, but I couldn't find these mentioned. They seem pretty obvious though, so forgive me if this isn't new. For the Advent starbases: 1. The meteor attack does no damage. At least, against pirate corsairs they don't seem to do any damage. 2. The base doesn't shoot plasma bursts unless at least 1 plasma upgrade is researched. This may be a graphical thing, I can't tell if the damage is being done

Wait, why does it take serveral hours to process the pre-orders into beta-keys? Are they being done by hand or something? bug report: When I try to purchase the game through the impulse program, it rings up as 13.xx when I buy it through the impulse website, it's the norma 9.95.. strange.

OP, you shouldn't take some of these responses personally. You're not the first to ask for a story mode, and likely will not be the last, so ppl get aggravated at the repetition. I also agree, a story mode would do wonders for the Sins community. The story of Starcraft is what made the game so damn memorable. It brought millions into the starcraft community and made the game a legend. Once they had the player base, they continued to support and balance the game

Hmm, no such thing as skill-specific interrupts? So if we gave a ship the ability to cloak, there would be no way to reveal it specifically? We'd have to have the cloak antimatter dependent, and have the "detector" ship drain all the anti-mater?... A ship that could drain anti-matter in an area would be gamebreaking though : ( Any ideas on how to make a ship project invisibility to allied ships near it?

Maybe we can setup a wiki on how to use the galaxy forge? Reading through this forum as it continues to grow just gets harder and harder... Anyway, a few quick questions if anyone knows the answer to them: 1. Is there a way to copy-paste in the galaxy forge? 2. Is there a setting that allows all planets in a star-system to automatically have phase lanes to every other planet? the same way the star systems do?

I tried doing a search for this and I was surprised nothing came up, but anyway. Does anyone know if there are any plans to add a scripting language to the galaxy forge? So we can add scripted events to maps? This would make it possible to do more creative things in SINS other than just build maps. It would also let creative players make their own mini-campaigns...

The real problem is with the game design, not the players. Any of you guys watch pro games? starcraft, warcraft 3? There are some amazing comebacks out there. A game shouldn't be over till it's over. The fact that a game can be "over" in Sins, and yet still drag on for another hour.. that's just bad design.

sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but i'm just wondering... why is it that one player can't be the "host" for these multiplayer games? to avoid all this sync error business? Isn't that how most games do it? Sure this means that if the host drops, usually the game is hosed (except for a few games, like Age of Empires which could dynamically switch hosts) but I imagine it would save a lot of dev time trying to hunt down these sync bugs. To answer your question OP, that's never happened to me so I don't think it's normal. When I switch my buildings to trader mode, the little trader ships start moving again. Don't know why yours stopped, but it seems like there are a handful of random bugs out there. You can try sending in a savegame and maybe the devs can iron it out. the "longest trade route isn't really the longest" is another problem. Don't know how that's supposed to be calculated.

it's times like this that I wish the "official" mod center at wincustomize was more useable.. or perhaps simply more often used? maybe the guys at ironclad could host an official mod competition? to shed some light on the best mods? it's hard to tell what's does what, or what is compatible with what version etc, just surfing around on this forum.

why do you need permission? Isn't danman's mod a collection of other mods + his own touch? Why can't you take parts of his mod that you like, add a twist, and release it as your own mod collection? From the sound of things, it may be awhile indeed before we see this mod updated to work w/1.11+. Splitting up the labor a bit so it doesn't all fall on the shoulders of one poor guy's spare time sounds like a great idea.

Responding to the OP. I think it really depends on the map. If there are lots of colonizable planets available: You might want to invest in two colonizing frigates, or perhaps the mothership + colofrigate. Waiting for the 90 antimater to recharge takes a long time. If you have 2-3 planets you want to colonize, using 1 colonizing frigate will hold you back. The Trading Ports / Refineries are what make large empires practical. When you're trying to expand out in the boonies with 30% allegience, all of a sudden trade ports / refineries are the only things that make such planets economically useful. Back home in the 70%+ area, they're still useful, but you're right, you're much better off just upgrading extractor tech.
