Good news is that after reinstalling DS10 a second time this issue is no longer occurring. How bizarre. I guess that's me sorted for now...
If you uninstall DS, reboot, do you still see the issue?
OK the 'bloom' issue is definitely not happening after uninstalling DS. The wallpaper transition and incorrect stretching were Windows' fault. I didn't know W7 did transitions :D
Yup I definitely clicked that button and as I said applying a wallpaper from within Deskscapes works as expected. I've since also tested setting a picture as a backdrop via the Windows context (right click) menu, which behaves a little differently - it does a fade between the old desktop and the new desktop, then when the fade should be completed it turns the bloom/gamma/something to the new picture up by about 25%. So the problem I initially reported
Hi I have this problem whenever I try to set a wallpaper outside of Deskscapes. Vids/dreams work fine, but whenever I try to set a .jpg wallpaper this strange white/contrast? effect is applied. The wallpaper displays fine if assigned to show within Deskscapes itself. Any tips?
Fun tip : DeskScapes uses codecs to display AVI files (AVI being a container for any number of formats) and as such, renaming your mp4 to avi or mpg works just fine with DeskScapes (assuming you have a compatible mp4 codec installed).

I wouldn't know how/where*. It's not a problem that affects any other program and I've had this problem with DeskScapes in the past (it's just always been able to be remedied before now). Any bug report I file will be pretty vague. *how as in what to say, where as in what section of the Feedback App to file it under
Annnd after a *fresh* install of of 10071, latest nVidia drivers, DeskScapes 8.21, LAV Filters 0.65 this still happens. Since this is now a fresh installation I won't report back about future builds unless the problem has gone away.

Hey TMB. A weird bug has popped up with the latest Deskscapes update (6th Jan as far as I can tell, the actual version number didn't change though) where when DreamManager starts it kind of just hangs... when you bring up the window, its fully functional, but the status line says 'Starting...' and no dream is ever selected. Easily remedied by forcing it to 'Switch Now' and then the program starts up and loads the thumbnails etc and starts doing its thing.

The plan to release the SDK has been announced over a year ago. Keep twiddling your thumbs.
It's been years! It's a bit slack really.
Humph. I just assumed it was supposed to be black. :)
OK I have the last beta installed and the option to 'Upgrade' has appeared for me and gives me the 'smaller than expected' error when I try to do so. I do not fit into any of the categories above, so I assume I should not be seeing the upgrade option. I assumed I would have to update and then during/after installation it would prompt me to purchase it. I assumed this because I can't find the option to purchase the upgrade at a discount anywhere, only the ful
By 'disable' I think he means just displaying a wallpaper, instead of a video or dream.
I get the same, but I didn't care enough to look into it further. Good luck, guys.
I've always assumed it was supposed to do something but never cared enough about it until now... I've tried it on DS2.0, 2.5 and 3.0beta, tried it on different machines with different OSs (XP, Vista and 7) - the only common factor between these machines that I can tell is that they all use nVidia gfx cards of one sort or another (GeForce 3, 6600, 9300 and 9600). I've only ever gotten the static blue background. It's not a particularly ugly static blue backgr
Thanks Neil. Guess I'll take the cheap option and stick with the beta now until I upgrade to Win7 retail :)
Howdy ho peoples. A couple of questions now that apparently DS3 has been released. I previously bought DS2 back in Oct '08 (for Vista Home Premium). Do I get an upgrade to DS3? I've read Neil saying elsewhere that I should, but it was (just) over 12 months ago, so... Now I'm running Win7RC, so yesterday I installed the beta 2.92 or whatever. There doesn't seem to be an upgrade path to v3 available anywhere. Do I need
