Sorry, but I'll trust the Canadian Forest Service's knowledge and expertise over yours. And guess what - stopping clear cutting and putting out forest fires prematurely isn't on the list of causes for this epidemic...climate change is.
@psychoak, We can quibble about the amount of rainfall and the cut off point for trends being the 1930s or 1940s but at the end of the day, it's only one of many trends and factors being measured and in total they all indicate a warming trend and its negative effects - the other trends are listed in the link below. Have you heard of the mountain pine beetle? It's a good example of the negative impact of climate change here in BC and an example of exponential, iterative e
I have one thing that I don't understand about anti AGW people. CO2 is a greenhouse gas, amongst many others. Do they really think mankind could raise the level of CO2 above 1000 ppm without ANY consequences? Or do they question the greenhouse effect of the gases? So how is it that mankind releases greenhouse gases, but it does not have an effect on global temperature (I guess anti AGW believers think this way)?
Thanks Goa - makes sense if it is now 18/27 max rather than 10/20 in an additive way.
Can anyone clarify this change? Reworked Phasic Trap (Hangar Bays) in order to properly limit the number of affected strike craft. Phasic Trap (Hangar Bays) will now affect 18/27 individual strike craft, increased from 10/20; duration updated from 45/60 to 45/45. At first glance, I can't see how increasing the number of strike craft affected to 18/27 from 10/20 "properly limits" them. It already seemed quite an effective ability and this seems to m
I don't like gov't interference in my life and global warming requires gov't intervention so therefore the science of AGW is wrong. My confirmation bias will guide me in overcoming any cognitive dissonance. Alternately, I like gov't control and I don't like cars or pollution therefore the science of AGW is correct! psychoak when you are writing this stuff do you have certain go-to standard answers or do you like to sort of do some free-form spontaneous riffing? Radiance I am less sure about as I honestly don't think I've ever opened with one - but I have seen other good players do so from time to time - maybe a better choice as a late game addition vs Titans though I'll concede. Halcyon is honestly quite amazing though... Shield Regen vs. Missile Barrage - its (SR) radius is pretty small - and bunching your fleet up within it is probably not the best idea in this situation.
The Marza opener isn't just about hoping you get to Lvl 6 - it has more firepower than Colony Caps and its ability to bomb out planets quicker makes it a winner in early battles over territory. I don't often play Vasari, so I'm not sure why more people don't open with Kortul - especially as you're going to be getting colony frigates anyway. Advent, like I said, Halcyon and Radiance are perfectly viable unless in Eco spot and haven't been that uncommon to see in my expe

You can't colonize more than 2 jumps out without the frigates taking long, unacceptable delays.
Colony frigates are fine as is - wh
Elemental as a brand name probably only means something to forum regulars here and to game reviewers and their regular readers. Do the majority of current FE:LH players know or care about the word Elemental right now? I would imagine a lot of players discovered FE as something new in itself, completely unattached from any Elemental baggage. Stardock would know better than I ofc, but if this is all true, then what is the point in re-introducing the name Elemental instead of iterating off of FE
