myeh maybe I am wrong, It probably depends which fleets are versus which, I was playing advent vs a freinds vasari fighter fleet just to see what happened. I won, but it I think I might have been in my culture so my carriers were able to recharge their antimatter which helps too. And even though vasari are more powerful they can only shoot at one thing per a pass and have fewer fighters per squadron, and if you add the fact that advent get that extra is 5 or 7 f

After playing the .09 beta I thought the same thing which is why I started working on this mod below Emphasize capital carrier/fighter roles, Mainly to eliminate support carriers and make capital ship carriers actually worth it. You don't see present day navies having little micro aircraft carriers running all over the place. Now I agree you should be a good player and be prepared to balance your fleet, but the p

If they were, they would take demand away from the real game. So the big question is - where is the best place to draw the line between a demo and a full game?[/quote] I would say people at that point should find an online gaming reveiw site or gaming magazine that has reviewers that have similar tastes

Completely disabling the OS disk cache would mean that any application that writes to disk will pause while the write is taking place. It would be painfully slow. I love having the 8 GB RAM. I can currently run an editor for oblivion, that essentially loads the entire games contents into memory, load and play the game while the editor is running (having to quite to save changes of course). On top of that, have internet explorer downloading a new 100mb mod, while listening to streaming music over the internet while all the while defragging one of the harddrives im not using. I can agree with watertown but I also agree with Craig Fraser. Thats what the demos are for. I usually have a enough friends where they have a game I don't have as of yet or I have one they don't, and we will got to each others house to try it out .If I like it, I buy it, if it sux I don't. I don't play the whole game mind you, my friend would eventually get ticked or my GF would wonder why I haven't been home for the last 16 hours. Thats how I discovered Sins and Supreme Commander, f

The video drivers are not hosted on the dell site, but Nvidia driver installer is universal, unlike ATIs so your good to go. What I would do first however before you install 64 bit is download all your drivers and put them on a thumb/flash/USB drive,

As I can buy on-line I can get them even cheaper, I can simply buy in a U.S. webshop like Impulse and get the benefits of the strong euro. As I hardly feel the costs, I can simply do a few mouse clicks and have a game on my computer an hour later. Piracy isn't even worth the effort it takes. But now imagine a

You know for us casual gamers we need to have a "Married Man no Freetime Clan" where a few of us can get together once or twice a week to play for an hour or so, save, then continue on next time we set a time to play, lol. I like the singleplayer expereince but it gets repetive cause I know whats coming and I know I will win. I would like to play with a few other casual gamers and just have a good time watching the explosions and playing a good game where I might recieve or deliver

Iamcatfu I was thinking the same thing, but if that doesn't work, you could use the idea of replacing new fighter entities using frigates info, then it wouldn't even take up any cap at all, but use up the maximum number of spawnable squads its "carrier unit" has. Which in the entity files is refered too as command points. So each command point gives you a squad. This would be better so at least then people couldn't keep spawning frigates in a system over and over, and your defense frigates fo

I know theres like a gazilion mods, and maybe this has been done before but this mod just tweaks a few things in the game. I will list the tweaks and the reasons why, if you have any suggestions, ideas, comments let me know. Making cap ships uses a little less cap, to promote building them more in mulitplayer. Lowering the number of sqaudrons for TEC and Vasari support carrier but making their fighters stronger, (this would leave the advent with the drone swarm,

Well I was thinkin you could create an ability similar to the research, I am sure there must be some way. OR an ability to spawn pirates would work too, but you have to make sure that balances out and that pirate ships use unit cap, otherwise it would be massively unbalanced in that you could just swarm the enemy with limitless pirate ships.

Would it be possible to have one constructor ships who's special abilities would be to spawn the capital ship facility and the frigate facility? However to keep from spamming a hundred facilities the constructor ship would actually be spawning a variation of those facilities that take up a small amoun
