"+-25% Research bonus" Your example has both plus and minus signs. Did you make that same typo in the file?
I believe I wrote "+[GOODVALUE]%", so if [GOODVALUE] was -25 it would read "+-25%". If the value is positive, it would only put in the number with no plus sign, hence a plus sign must be manually added to the flavor text to indicate an increase rather than a decrease, while a minus sign is automatically adde

So I got fed up with the way the random events always seem to penalize Good choices while rewarding Evil choices and set about to modify the random events to be more balanced. Ideally, I would have made each choice raise one stat while lowering another, with Neutral hovering between the two, but it does not seem this is possible. Thus I decided to simply make it so that all three options give a bonus (or, in the case of certain events, a penalty) and it is simply a matter of choos

Some of the terms might be confusing you. "A" flagship could be just about any medium-large ship, depending on the context, while "the" flagship is the survey vessel you start random map games with. I don't remember what tech allows you to put survey modules on your ships, but I seem to remember it's not one I usually get that early. In any case, a survey vessel has nothing to do with planetary invasion. First, before you can invade a planet, you must destroy all ene

So I finally did get GalCiv2 working, and then decided I wanted to install Linux. I could reboot my computer in Windows, but frankly in the few hours I've used Linux, I'd rather not use Windows ever again if I can help it. I downloaded Wine, but when I try to run GC2, the most I get is a black square on the screen (e.g. neither game nor launcher ever comes up). I get a ton of errors when trying to run, things like, my screen resolution is 1122368x0, and needs to be at leas

Well, I downloaded the update for GC2 on Impulse, and can run the game now. I got the update for DA and that one works now as well. I'm downloading the update for TA now, so hopefully that will make it work.

I already posted my problem here: https://forums.galciv2.com/101596/page/2/#1936678 But given the fact that the last poster seems to have had the same problem I'm having, and posted in August, I'm not too hopeful of getting a reply any time soon. I just bought GC2 Gold, but all efforts to install or play it have been futile. When downloaded via Stardock Central, once the installation is complete, I get an "Error: 0" or something. That's pretty much all it says.&nbs

I just bought the Gold Edition and the CDs got here today. I installed the Gold Edition, and then immediately bought Twilight of Arnor, and DL'ed it through impulse. So far, I keep getting errors, and when I try and run either DA or TA it asks me to activate (which I think I already did), but doesn't accept the registration key. Also, the first time I tried to run TA (simply clicking the X in the corner of the activation window), it told me I had to update DA first. So
