Well, after uninstalling Sins (version 1.05), rebooting, installing new sound drivers, rebooting, installing new video drivers, rebooting, reinstalling Sins, and rebooting again, Impulse seems to work fine. I now have version 1.11 and am about to FINALLY play the game! Very strange problems with Impulse, but it seems to be working now. So I guess if you try to update with the retail version it will work. If you try to update from the manually updated version 1.05 it doesn't work. That was my
