"Stardock and Ironclad have been looking at what's next for Sins of a Solar Empire. One of the big things on our list is to implement a new memory model for the game. The reason this matters is that right now, it's hard to add more ships or structures into the game because of the infamous 2GB memory limit on 32-bit systems. So in the coming couple of months, we're going to be working on a new updat
Sounds like the typical 2 gig minidump issue. The developers are working on it. The issue is not yours, please wait patiently.
Should I play with "small fleets" until this is fixed?
What about a new tactical structure. I was thinking that the idea of a phase lane inhibitor would be interesting. I mean what better tactic then to close off an entry point for enemies. lol
That sounds unfair. What if your system only has one entry point? you wouldn't be able to a enter their system at all. which would be bad if it's their home system.
For SoSE 2, I would like to see that the galaxy is randomly generated and about the size of the one that is found in Spore. Awesome! And maybe you could build your own or customize ships just like you can in Spore and Galactic Civilizations?
Quoting Canitbedude123, reply 4 Oh. I didn't know about the "Phase Gate", but that is probably because I never played as the Vasari. However. this development does make it extremely easy to add a Stargate type device into Sins , since authority exists within the game. I guess when I add it the other races, I could make Phase Gate jumps faster. However, I do think it would be cool if someone modeled new gates for the
Well, I know the Vasari (Phase race) get a "Phase Gate" module that allows you to create Phase Lanes between any two gates. This only lets you travel from one gate to another mind you, and if your map is huge it'll still take a LONG time (which I found out the hard way, lol)...you can also increase the hyperspace speed while going through the phase lanes (at the very least the ones through these gates, from what I could tell at least). You
Is it possible to create a Hypergate, Super Stargate or whatever in Sins? You know so one could travel quickly between other planets with such a device.
I did create a new copy and changed the name (also in the string file). However, I think my problem lays with selecting a diffrent build slot. I don't know how to do that yet. [e digicons]:)[/e]
Is it possible to clone a ship already present in the base game, so you can have two of the same ship? I'm trying to make it so you have the standard colony ship and then a heavy one. EDIT: I figured it out. Yay me! [e digicons][/e] Thanks for the help.
I got my music working, the converter I was using was making silent ogg files. Thanks for your help guys. [e classic]:D[/e]
I tried what you said neterw , however I don't hear any music. EDIT: I thought that maybe it could be the ogg music coverter causeing problems, but the ogg files (i converted) play fine outside the game.
Just what the title states; "How do you add custom music?" I have my music and I already know to convert it to ogg, but thats all I know. What do I do after that? I tried to rename my song (yes its .ogg) to openingtheme to match whats in the soundmusic txt and I also tried to keep the original name of the song (I changed the name in soundmusic too)
Here are some Ideas I would like to add: Normal 0 false false false </w:Compa
Sweet! Thanks. [e digicons][/e]
So I played the demo of Sins and I am very intrested in buying the full game. However, I have a question about buying the digital version of Sins. Can I re-download the game, if say, I buy new hardware or format the HDD down the road?
